  • Brenton Kniess: Mick and Ernie go to Therapy

Mike Byham is quickly becoming one of my favorite playwrights! After reading a few of Mike's other works, I'm convinced Mike can tackle any genre that is given to him. MICK AND ERNIE GO TO THERAPY is a laugh-out-loud comedy that would be a sheer delight for not only the audience, but the actors involved. So many wonderfully structured moments that develop some truly great storytelling and of course some great laughs. If you haven't read this or any of Mike's other works, what are you waiting for?

  • Brenton Kniess: Places

Martineau constructs a timely and charming 10-minute play in PLACES. So many things happen in ten minutes and Martineau does not miss a beat here. Every plot point is so well constructed, each character is fully fleshed out, and the dialogue pulls you in and keeps you in this high school cafeteria that Martineau so eloquently creates right before our eyes.

  • Brenton Kniess: A Little Lamb

Soltero-Brown's A Little Lamb not only has an intriguing premise but also the dialogue is very well crafted and offers some really intriguing moments that keep the audience in the world of this play wanting answers. It is truly well crafted and would offer some great conversations after the play. A thrilling two-hander that would be a good challenge for actors.

  • Brenton Kniess: Relic

It's official, Mike Byham is my new favorite science fiction writer! RELIC is a fantastic science fiction one-act that is beautifully constructed, allows for great world-building, and many excellent moments of theatricality as well as spectacle. With a flawless ending, Byham constructs this original story with heart and ease. This could be a wonderful challenge for a director!

  • Brenton Kniess: A Chance Encounter

Soucy writes a two-hander that at first glance is merely a collector compelled by this artist. However, Soucy builds a well-crafted story that is written very organically, as the dialogue is fluid and allows for some honest moments between these two very important characters. With a compelling monologue by the Collector, Soucy paints all the pieces together and creates a haunting short drama.

  • Brenton Kniess: The Taste of Fire (Full Length)

Donnelly's THE TASTE OF FIRE is a harrowing, powerful, and tense drama that encapsulates a true sense of grief from a tragic event. This is play full of so many strong emotional beats that keep us as an audience invested all the way through. Donnelly's craftsmanship here is second to none!

  • Brenton Kniess: Too Old

I don't know how Moughon does it. Every time I've read one of her phenomenal horror shorts my jaw drops at the twist that you never see coming. These characters are well-developed and there is great chemistry between the two of them. The dialogue flows very nicely and the action is expertly layered for the shocking twist. To summarize, Moughon is a horror genius.

  • Brenton Kniess: Va-Va-Vicarious

This is a wonderful short play that would make for an excellent two-hander between two actors who have great comedic timing. It's funny, romantic, sharp, and witty, and its dialogue is so quick yet clever, Ruyle creates some very vivid imagery that is not only great for the actors, but the director as well!
