  • Brenton Kniess: Such a Waste

Poor Brad learns that he's finally not all that. Rachel Feeny-Willaims' comedy, SUCH A WASTE will not be a waste of your time in the theater! It's a great college comedy that has a lot of humor and some really nice dialogue between Brad and Jennifer. A nice twist at the end that just adds to Brad's ego being hurt. This play is pure witty fun!

  • Brenton Kniess: Just Like In The Movies

As someone who is not a fan of Hallmark movies, this play certainly brought me a ton of laughs! Joe Swenson's JUST LIKE IN THE MOVIES is a wonderful farce that has so much potential for comedic actors looking for something that will have the audience in the palm of their hands. This truly is a great addition to any night of comedies! Lots of fun to be had with this play!

  • Brenton Kniess: This Grass Kills People

Daniel Prillaman's THIS GRASS KILLS PEOPLE starts off with some light comedy, but then it builds up in a tension-filled drama that makes your heart beat out of your chest. That's the magic that Prillaman creates in this short horror. These are great characters who play off of each other very well. The dialogue is very fluid and offers some great moments for actors to relish these roles. Lots of potential for design elements and for a director to develop something very powerful.

  • Brenton Kniess: The Flat Earth

I can see why Mike Byham's THE FLAT EARTH was one of NPX's Featured Play. I've said this at ad nauseam but Mike Byham has a gift for bringing out humanity in places when within a futuristic society seem as far from it as possible. The character of John has multiple powerful and beautifully structured monologues that feel so personal that we cannot help but connect to them. Mike Byham continues to create inspiring theatre that will stick with you. This play deserves an audience.

  • Brenton Kniess: Thoughts and Prayers

Dan Taube writes a hauntingly emotional piece that needs to be produced. This experimental drama has so much tension and emotional stakes that make it a powerhouse of a play. So much for actors and a director to bring out in this piece that needs to be heard.

  • Brenton Kniess: Breaking The Camel's Back

Jones displays how a granddaughter caught up in the social media bubble has lost connection with not only her family but herself. The integration of poetry is beautifully constructed and utilized. The connection Libby has with her Mum is well crafted and has a really touching payoff. The journey of change that Libby has is really well developed and it truly makes the play what it is. A beautifully crafted piece of theatre by Lou Jones.

  • Brenton Kniess: Feeding the Inner Critic

CK Brestman has made me very hungry for tomato soup...even if it's from a can. This would be a phenomenal monologue for any actor looking to expand their abilities and show off their comedic timing. Brestman sets up so many great moments for an actor to truly relish in and create a monologue performance that no one would forget.

  • Brenton Kniess: And I'm Telling You I'm Not Really Going

This play is a fantastic representation of theatrical comedy. Richard Thompson writes an absolutely hilarious, charming, and rapid-fire play. This play would be a perfect fit for any night of ten-minute comedies. Truly a fun play that would be an absolute treat to see staged!

  • Brenton Kniess: My Piano Doesn't Like Me

This is a wonderful play for those who play piano and for those who do not. Passion is a powerful aspect in this charmingly funny short play from Larry Rinkel. The dialogue is very fluid and full of well…passion! This is a really clever premise and would make a fantastic addition to any night of ten minute plays!
