  • Morey Norkin: I, Phone

Great concept with very funny dialogue! Maybe smartphones are becoming a little too smart. Don’t let the folks at Apple and Google see this, but everyone else please do!

  • Morey Norkin: Poor Paige

What we see in POOR PAIGE is that sometimes a friend in need is just a needy friend. Deb Cole does a great job of showing that even good friends have boundaries when it comes to money. And poor Paige doesn’t have a clue. A fun two-hander that will have people nodding in recognition and discussing their own experiences.

  • Morey Norkin: TWO LADIES IN BLACK HEADING TOWARD A BENCH (a 10 minute comedy)

A delightful story of looking for love in some unusual places. Two charming characters and very funny dialogue make this short two-hander a cinch to be the talk of any festival.

  • Morey Norkin: The Weak Link in the Chain

We forge our own chains in life, often with contributions from others, restricting our growth and freedom. If we’re lucky, we find a way to break free or at least loosen their hold. Christopher Plumridge presents this struggle in a thought-provoking monologue. The opportunities for imaginative staging are endless, helping to make this an extraordinarily powerful piece. There is no weak link here.

  • Morey Norkin: Podcast Magic - A ONE MINUTE PLAY

Love it! And I may follow Amber’s lead to deal with my own insomnia. Entertaining and helpful!

  • Morey Norkin: Cooler Near the Lake

Another outstanding work from Philip Middleton Williams. Covering a 24-hour period following a memorial service for the family matriarch, the play is perfectly paced to allow us to truly know these characters, their secrets, and their fears. As family, friends, former lovers, and childhood crushes gather in this lakeside resort community, the past and present come together in true dramatic fashion. I highly recommend this for reading and producing.

  • Morey Norkin: PIE-LICIOUS: OPEN TIL MIDNIGHT

A dark gravel road, a mysterious Old Timer, and two lost teenage boys in search of… pie! Not just any pie! Pie-licious: Open Til Midnight! Funny and creepy, this play is guaranteed to make audiences shriek with laughter!

  • Morey Norkin: Hilda's Diner

I had the double pleasure of attending the reading of this play by ATC Studios and then reading it afterwards. There are so many wonderful levels to this outstanding work. Part historical drama, part mystery, part family drama, and part advocacy for veterans benefits and mental health issues. Dana Hall mixes this all together expertly and with great care, just like a tasty casserole from Hilda’s Diner! I guess that’s why I came back for a second helping!

  • Morey Norkin: Open Mic Night

Whew! This play just builds and builds and then wham! Frightening as it is, I would love to see this performed. Just not from the front row. At least there is a podcast version to check out and I will! https://www.podpage.com/gather-by-the-ghost-light/ep-48-open-mic-night-…

  • Morey Norkin: The Polycule: A Comedy of Manners

Simply brilliant! Actually, there’s nothing simple about it. To create a modern farce in rhyming verse and have it be so much fun… I take off my hat! And in this play, there is certainly the suggestion of taking off much more! Jillian Blevins has certainly opened my eyes to a world I knew nothing about. But the enjoyment of this piece comes from seeing that basic human foibles exist even in the most unconventional relationships. Guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser!
