  • BW (One-Act Play)

BW is a play that centers Black joy. The conflict is clear and the story is compelling, and the central characters are not forced to perform trauma for the audience. A revolutionary act. A beautiful jewel of a play.

A gorgeous, delicate yet concrete meditation on masculinity and brotherly bond. The main character is on the autism spectrum, and his journey is a revelation. Shlichtman has a deep understanding of her subject matter and is incredibly honest as she examines what the characters navigate as Latinx men.
  • Count Yourself Among the Lucky

A beautiful and richly visual meditation on love, relationships, family, chosen and not, with a skeleton car and a dark desert highway. Completely gorgeous and original.

Blossom Johnson’s work is a whole world opened up on the page. Her language is striking, lyrical, and honest. Her work is vividly accessible for those of us who don’t share her Diné roots, but she is not writing to please or to educate anyone. Her gaze is her own. Her use of language forces the viewer/reader to lean in and to fall into her story. I’m so glad to have found Ms Johnson’s work near the beginning of her journey and will continue to follow her with anticipation.

This is a beautiful piece about language, self, music and coffee. Totally engaging and gorgeous. Pero que belleza! Hay muchas maneras de tomar el café. Esta trova es una delicia.
  • Circular

Beautiful, muscular and poetic language. The circle is unbroken in terms of the toll war takes, and the clever way Shamas weaves strands of stories together is immensely satisfying. Myth becomes fact becomes myth becomes fact.
A two hander! About PTSD! When we re-open this mythic play is an ideal one to program into seasons all over the country.

A gorgeous, achingly beautiful play with intricately detailed relationships. It feels true, real. It also features characters that we have not seen enough of. Anyone who produces it and casts it well, will have a real revolution of "diversity" on their stage.
  • Venn Diagram
    6 Jun. 2020
Venn Diagram is a beautiful, and heartbreaking play about two college friends, one Black one Jewish, who meet after many years apart. The title comes from the confluence of circumstances that each experiences and is traumatized by. This play deals with violence by the police towards Black women, in a way I have not yet seen on stage. This is a powerful piece, and I look forward to seeing it produced.

Carnes looks and SEES the person who is keeping us safe. A lovely ode to the unsung hero.

A gorgeous, searing, tear your guts out play. Masculine and macho but with so much heart and depth. Amador paints in pain and violence and makes beauty
