  • The Condemned, a Monologue
    18 Sep. 2018
Chilling and powerful. Reading this, one wonders where all the hatred that people spew on the internet is landing. Is there any irony left? Are there too many people willing to do the will of the people. This monologue is thought provoking. Where do we draw the line?

One of the most beautiful plays I have ever read. I was held by Benne's masterful writing from the first line. Exquisite. Great roles for Latinx and Asian actors. The way this play breathes is pure magic.
  • CJ, A Trilingual Play (An Aspanglish Play)
    13 Aug. 2018
A play unlike anything you have seen before. Trilingual, with sign language, it is a beautiful exploration of family, and identity with wonderful roles for actors. The deaf Latino community has found a champion in Mercedes Floresislas.
  • WORLD CLASSIC

Fantastic play. Real, raw family dynamics. Kitchen sink drama of the kind we see with white families all the time, but never with Latinx. A great piece for those wonderful character actors who are tired of playing maids and gardeners.
  • Colonialism is Terrible, But Phở is Delicious
    29 Jul. 2018
A tight and entertaining play about food, colonization and ownership. Great characters, funny, witty and underneath it all a scathing takedown of "world cuisine" obsessed hipsters. Guaranteed to make you want to eat Pho by the end. Or actually in the middle.
  • House of Joy (NEW VERSION - 2022)
    29 Jul. 2018
Completely kick ass piece of action and adventure, with woman leads, a gripping story, and a great delve into a historical period I didn't know much about. This play not only centers the female narrative, it does it while being wildly entertaining.

Gorgeous, mysterious play about integration, education and femininity. Olmos' language is uniquely poetic, and the roles he writes for women are complex .
  • What About the Children?

I love this play for how it shows the wife of an ICE officer learn and grow and challenge her husband. I love how the woman is the victor not the victim. This play gave me a jolt of hope this morning. #protestplay
  • The Briar Patch

I saw this play at the Great Plains. It is a powerful play, dissecting the need for religion and the tragedy of mental illness, while reclaiming and recasting old myths. I'm a huge fan of Jonathan's work
  • Even Flowers Bloom in Hell, Sometimes

It takes a writer of great skill to make you understand and empathize with these people in the prison system. Gonzalez tackles the issues of systemic racism in the prison system while examining the souls and wants of the men inside. A huge play, something that could be produced by a company like Cornerstone to reach out to the families of the incarcerated to uplift them and to advocate for their loved ones. I feel like this play would make some people deeply uncomfortable, the way great theatre is meant to do.
