  • Cam Eickmeyer: Fairy Christmas

The heart of this short play is so warm and beautiful. The way these kids handle the grief and anxiety of a sick sibling is very honest. I just love the dialogue and joy that wraps this little family together. The excellent use of the Narrator playing off the audience as much as the characters is very well done.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Mary Kelly's Window: A Play of Jack the Ripper's Crimes

This excellent take on the Ripper murders excels in dialogue, lyrics and incredible stage direction. I especially loved the seemingly chaotic jumble of activity in scenes that show the bustle of London, but are also carefully crafted moments that drive the play forward. A must read and, when it is undoubtedly produced, a must watch (more than once!)

  • Cam Eickmeyer: The 1

The 1 is an incredibly enjoyable, funny and smart short play. What happens when the dog catches its tail? This clever play answers the question and would be a joy to watch performed.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Quality Time

It's said the most powerful dialogue is what is unsaid and this short play is a shining example. Mixed between the verbal exchanges are years of expectations, regret, disappointment and loss. The sound of the plane and the presence of war in this play permeate each moment in an inescapable way. You are drawn into the moment and become as helpless as the father and daughter, wanting a way out, but unable to find one.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Stopping By a Starbucks on a Snowy Evening

This play makes me think about the thousands of brief interactions I've had with people in similar situations. The playwright pulls the questions you would never ask a stranger, but have thought about doing just that, and plays them out to a touching and endearing conclusion. This would be an intriguing short play to see performed.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Civics

If you're a white, male American reading this play you will find moments of discomfort. I encourage you to sit in those feelings. This play calls out so much about our society's approach to immigrants and "others" in such a short few pages. There's humor, but each joke has a combo punch right behind with another revealing observation of our society. Kudos to Gill for such a powerful piece.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: The Old Couple

A very honest and heartfelt short play that speaks to decades of marriage in so few words. It's funny too, even when talking about the tragedy of war. Very well crafted and tons of depths for actors to explore when performing.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Ruins

This immensely powerful short play is overwhelming, sad, sweet and endearing. Mourning lost innocence, lost identity and struggling to cope with a war that the rest of the world seems to barely scroll by, Eugenia teaches us the depth of pain this war has caused. Congrats to this young playwright and best of luck navigating these waters.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Clip Clop

Absolutely fantastic horror short. I want to see this performed quite badly. It's darkly funny with golden lines like "He didn’t want to know what it was. Curiosity could go kill some other damn cat. He just wanted to run."

    Highly recommend this excellent piece.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Annnd Scene (of the Crime)

Very well written, funny and creative. All three roles would be a blast for any actor to play. Would love to see this in person to let the jokes hit even harder when performed. Excellent short play!
