  • Cam Eickmeyer: Blind Justice

AI running amok in the justice system is a fear everyone has, but this play points out the biggest danger is an AI that believes its own infallibility. It's as if "Fake News" is personified in a judge that will not listen to reason. Pamela is a very authentic character and we can see ourselves making the same choices she does as she tries to defend herself against this insanity.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: The Best Little Non-Denominational Winter Performance Ever

A fun and entertaining short play perfect for any Christm- I mean holiday theater festival. The jokes land well and quoting the Bible incorrectly is just perfect.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Witch Queen: A Snow White Reimagining

Using the well known themes of the fairy tale to draw out a powerful story of (step)mother/daughter relationships is worth every moment in this excellent short play. The quickly paced two-hander delivers plenty of truths, so much so that you will need more than one read to attempt to catch them all.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Special Extra Treatment

Mandryk's delightful short will make you smile throughout. The jokes land well and you can't help but grin as the unexpected unfolds.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: LA 8 AM (a ten minute play)

This short just vaulted to the top of my list of favorite 10-minute plays. Perfect execution of the humor, the heartbreak, just all of it. I cannot recommend this play enough.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: I Hate My Afterlife

This lovely play is full of laughs, witty gags and honest heartfelt characters. It's a clever concept that is executed perfectly.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Phones

A deal that offers power for ones soul is a story told often, what sets this one apart is a character that is somehow deep from the character description and first lines of dialogue. We know him and therefore fall along for the ride on this quick paced short play. A study in pacing for sure and a fun read.

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Postpartum

Absolutely fantastic short play. The characters are so authentic we immediately empathize with them and feel the tiredness, frustration and challenges of early parenthood. The horror elements, and trust me, they are terrifying, are deepened by these very real characters. The ending is just perfect!

  • Cam Eickmeyer: Now We Wait (a one minute play)

A delicious short play with a charming heart. The sporting hitmen are agents of the cruel world but that doesn't mean they have to be completely cold. Seeing this would be worth the wait.

I'm glad my NPX browsing led me to this play, much the same way Charlie and Arroyo found their way to the same park bench. There are numerous deep and beautiful lines, but the power of this short play is in the honesty of the character's connection. The dialogue puts you right on the bench with them as they briefly share everything with each other.
