  • George Sapio: Marcie and Patty Are Getting Married

I absolutely love Marcie and Patty. And Schroeder. And Sally! What a series of disasters--right before a wedding. This would be outrageous fun to play for four actors who love romps. And I would *love* to direct it!

  • George Sapio: The Boy Who Woke Up and No One Knew Him

Very authentic dialogue, especially for a pair of teenage boys. A heartfelt story as well, that made me remember painfully what it was like to not know how to express oneself. I truly felt for both of these characters; teenage years are absolute hell and this is one reason why.

  • George Sapio: FEELIN' THE LOVE

I hate auditions. HATE auditions. I know exactly how this person feels, and this would be a great moment to walk in, blow the joint down, and then...walk off like you have all damn day.

  • George Sapio: THE SCANLON ROAD (from the AN IRISH HEART COLLECTION)

Sure, and it's a lovely grand moment for a lost Yank traveler ho mayhap just find he's bound for more than he wanted. A short but heartwarmin' piece of life, and maybe a bit of magic as well.

  • George Sapio: Drenched

For those of us who've learned that standing in the rain is not uncomfortable, but is quite amazing once you're fully and completely drenched, I totally get Lara, as I do Chet. A wonderful moment in time, full of laughter, push-and-pull, and a flash-in-the-moment of tragedy before their journey continues. Great piece for two eager actors.

  • George Sapio: "JOEY"...A Ten-Minute Drama

One Joey is the voice of thousands who were traumatically victimized. His pain weaves in and out of sync with those who intellectually...academically rationalize what has happened to children. This is a hard play to read and will be a very difficult one to perform, but it's a play that *should* be performed. A highly potent ten minutes.

  • George Sapio: Heart Attack

A great piece for two women to play; full of shock, realization, determination, and courage. It moves fluidly and the characters are well-paced and wholly natural.

  • George Sapio: Organic Seed

Loved it. I'm a frequent farmer's market customer and this captures the essence of what's "organic" and what isn't. (Certification only raises the questions of whose standards hold sway and who stands to gain from peddling "organic" labels. Walmart boasts "organic, btw.) Beyond that, however, lies the cusp between generations and traditions and these two characters exemplify this beautifully. Love the ending, too!

  • George Sapio: GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

I love short plays about random meetings between strangers and this one is quite a challenge. It only touches the tip of the relationship possibilities between the two, but what's here is gravely significant and left me wondering what happened in the next five minutes/days/months.

  • George Sapio: Operation Keep the Kitten Alive

A hilarious episode of teenage craziness fit for a night of comedy. Weaver perfectly captures the language and rhythms of boys on the far end of childhood and the beleagured good humor of the (always smarter) young woman tasked with keeping them from doing serious damage.
