Psychological horror at its best and written by a master craftsman!

  • Melissa Milich: Never Again

    This. Is. So. Good.
The Lottery was one of the first horror stories I ever read and it freaked me out. Never Again by Donna Hoke imagines the creative process that gripped Shirley Jackson, a young mother juggling babies and her creative writing. It was fascinating to be a fly on the wall of sorts as the male editors tried to figure this story out, and then the great touch with the rocks coming in with complaints from New Yorker readers who demanded to stop their subscriptions. Truly awesome and truly original!

  • Melissa Milich: Eden 2

Oh, this one is so FUN. Great concept and humor and puns... and it also made me think about climate change and global warming. It really is a brilliant little play. It made me smile... and gave me hope.

  • Melissa Milich: Women of a Certain Age

One of the best plays I have ever read on NPX.

  • Melissa Milich: A WOMAN IN NEED

Martha perfectly captures the feel of old-time murder mystery drama. The dialogue is great. A most fun choice for any festival or could easily be adapted into a radio drama. Well done!

I absolutely loved this play in every way possible. Such clever staging. Such fun characters. This is a tour de force!

  • Melissa Milich: Thanksgiving Dinner

I loved this. It filled my desire for a romance, but it had so many other elements in it as well. It felt real, and i totally lost myself in it. Contains a very powerful monologue. I loved this!

  • Melissa Milich: The Short Christmas Dinner

Yes, it's a farce but at the same time it's soooooo relatable. A dysfunctional family puts on a great show of a Hallmark Christmas dinner only to have everything fall apart before dessert is even served. Wickedly funny!

  • Melissa Milich: Places

Oh, I loved this. It's quirky, but real high school is SO WEIRD you could almost expect that something like this could very well happen. This play is unsettling, yet yet yet, it absolutely rings true. Oh, I loved this.
