  • Melissa Milich: The Christmas Affair of Richard the Third

The wonder of this play comes if you read it out loud. The poetic dialogue works together like perfect puzzle pieces, and classsical actors will enjoy biting into this one. I read it yesterday and I'm still in awe.

  • Melissa Milich: Interpreting a Dream

This is a small but powerful play. We can't really know what goes on in another person's head, and the language barrier ... is a barrier to many. Judy Klass does an excellent job of melding these two clashing worlds and the bilingual nature of this piece flows beautifully.

  • Melissa Milich: Judy Plays With Fire

This is SO CLEVER! I loved Twin Peaks and this amazing play for young audiences and actors is such a wonderful homage. If you're a fan of David Lynch or just like absurdist theatre, this is the one for you. I'm really impressed at the experimental nature of this script and a young ensemble of actors will have such great fun with this. Kudos to the playwright!

  • If this excerpt is any indication, Peter Fenton writes female characters very well. As I read this tight little monologue, I was thinking "He (Peter) gets it." He understands the way females are judged and the standards society holds them to. I want to read the longer play now.

  • Melissa Milich: Petty Drama Officer

As a former Petty Officer in the United States Navy, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS PLAY. It may seem like a farce to civilians, but there's something eeringly real about it as well. So much fun!

  • Melissa Milich: THE HAPPY INCIDENT ON AISLE 5 OF THE DELICIOSO FOOD MARKET & DELI AT AT 11:47 P.M., OR, IN PASSING [A 1-MINUTE PLAY]

This was so much fun! And entirely believable! It COULLD happen in real life. Well done!

  • Melissa Milich: Dream Date

OMG. This is so ... GOOD. It's like a sophisticated episode of The Twilight Zone. I was totally caught up in this from page one. Totally original and totally compelling. And also totally believable.

  • Melissa Milich: Father Michael's Doing Mass

As a cradle Catholic (heck, my brother is a Priest!) I absolutely loved this play. I mean, I sat in pews behind parishioners who could have had this very same conversation. It was hilarious. You'll recognize it if you've ever spent time waiting for Mass to begin. Amen!

  • Melissa Milich: Daddy Daughter Date: A Ten-Minute Play

What can you say about a play about gun violence? Ryan Vaughan's play says a lot. And it will stun you. But what will stay with you is the humanity in this play that rises out of the tragedy. It's an exceptional play.

  • Melissa Milich: First Date 2099

I'm not normally a science fiction aficionado, but Mike Byham has written a compelling little tour de force that yanked me right in. Although it is set far into the future, the interaction still reminded me eerily of what happens on a first date in today's world, and thus is the strength and irony of this masterful foray into a world where everything has to be validated and reasoned. There's so many clever moments in this. Especially now with AI capturing the headlines, Byham's play begs to be produced because it will make the audience think. And think.
