  • Monica Cross: Mattress (short play)

MATTRESS asks us to think about what kind of emotional work we want our bed to do: Is it a friend? Is it a confidant? Does it hold our secrets? or give us a moment's respite? David Hansen blends existential questions with quirky comedy in such a way that the piece makes you to laugh even while it invites you to more seriously reflect on the implications on the conversation. A great piece for a scene study! Well done!

  • Monica Cross: Vast

VAST invites us in on a journey. Greg Vovos mixes sorrow and hope beautifully in this monologue. A wonderful part for a woman to perform. This piece piece would be great on stage, but would also work well over zoom or other video platform.

  • Monica Cross: Lady Balthasar

Recently, I saw a zoom reading of this play. It's an absolute delight! Ginna Hoben creates a world where characters from a variety of Shakespeare's plays all meet in Dick's Tavern. Hilarity ensues! This play is excellent with only a cursory knowledge of Shakespeare. Hoben gives you everything you need to know to follow the door slamming ridiculousness of this mash-up. But this play is truly a special pleasure for Shakespeare experts and aficionados! It's full of jokes about verse and lines pulled directly from Shakespeare's work. Beautiful easter eggs for for those who pick up on the...

  • Monica Cross: The Twelve Dates of Christmas

THE TWELVE DATES OF CHRISTMAS is an amazing holiday script. Ginna Hoben writes a knock out part for women in this play! • Monica Cross: Together

TOGETHER is a play about the violence (physical, emotional, and psychological) of colonialism and the resilience of those who stand up to oppressors. Powerful and moving!

  • Monica Cross: Minor Deviations

MINOR DEVIATIONS is a very fun Science Fiction play. I saw this play at the Femme Fatale Play Festival. Erin Osgood has created delightful parts for actors to sink their teeth into. One actors plays a series of robots all with minor deviations. It creates a fun challenge for performance! This play works beautifully in performance and dashes expectations in the most satisfying way! Produce this play!

  • Monica Cross: The Way You Made Me (a solo show)

I saw THE WAY YOU MADE ME at the Femme Fatale Play Festival. Lindsay Partain has created raw language, pulsing with emotion. This play is full of loss and trauma, but still finds a way to bring us hope and joy. It is masterful. It is a play that you lean into, that you can feel engulfing you. Absolutely powerful!
