  • The Problematic Lot of Lot's Wife (A One-Minute Play)
    24 Mar. 2020
This short play offers a new alternative to the "Pillar of salt" story we have all heard. Here Lot's Wife gets her own agency and decides her own fate. This one-minute play packs a ton of action into a single page and bare stage. Check it out!
  • The Aurora Project
    21 Mar. 2020
The Aurora Project is a beautiful play with very complex characters, and a story that spans eons: Nora is sick, and Constantine will find a way to make her better even if takes a million years (or more). This play is particularly poignant at this present time. This play is full of hope and comfort even in the face of uncertainty. A wonderful play!
  • Cactus (short play)
    21 Mar. 2020
This is a great monologue! It takes a few unexpected turns. I saw a recording of this monologue on YouTube as part of David's "The Short Play Project." This monologue is deadly serious and yet really fun!
  • AND THE GLORY
    20 Mar. 2020
John Kelly takes a historical look at the creation of one of the most iconic pieces of music: Handel's Messiah. This play deals with the rivalries and scandals that nearly keeps Handel from completing this great work, but at the same time, the play looks at the transformative and redemptive power of music. This play humanizes these historical figures and pays homage to the masterful composer who created The Messiah.
  • Design (short play)
    20 Mar. 2020
We've all had this experience either as the instructor or the student, or as both. This play short captures the difficulties of working within constraints that don't match your aesthetic and the frustration of trying to pull a specific project out of someone who wants to ignore the rules. This script makes for a great open scene, and would work for all ages!
  • The Great Globe Itself
    19 Mar. 2020
This play tugged at my heart, and made me laugh out loud! From a plot to cheat Shakespeare to trying to get a part on Doctor Who, this play looks at 3 different Globes at 3 different times, but all surrounding one body of work. This is a play about legacy, and David Hansen highlights the power of words by sprinkling Shakespeare's lines throughout the script. This play is irreverent one minute and pays homage to the bard the next. It is smart, and funny, and very sad all at the same time. READ THIS PLAY, AND THEN PRODUCE IT!
  • Saint (short play)
    17 Mar. 2020
This play calls into question how well we really know someone, what is reputation really worth, and what we leave behind when we die. It saw a recording of this play as part of David's "The Short Play Project" on twitter. I delightful piece of dark comedy!
  • Butthole (short play)
    17 Mar. 2020
This is a fun script! Great for a short scene for a directing or acting class. It's a good script to play with energy and pace. I saw a recording of this script as part of David's "The Short Play Project" on twitter. A very enjoyable short play!
  • Pale Revelry
    17 Mar. 2020
Gill's play speaks to our current moment. In a new york city apartment, surrounded by the plague, some friends try to throw a party. This play asks questions about what's important in a time of crisis, and what responsibilities do we have to those around us. This play is a good read in these troubled times!
  • Homecoming '92
    14 Mar. 2020
This play packs a lot into 20 minutes: Homecoming, a dead body, an interrupted make out session. This play is a journey of self-discovery, as Benji has to make some split sections decisions that could change his life. It mixes fast-paced banter with some shocking moments. It's a great play for college students!
