  • The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog
    17 Jul. 2018
Matthew Weaver has developed a clever and very fun play about an iconic sentence. As the Lazy Dog and Quick Brown Fox attempt to live up to the expectations of the English alphabet, they share witty dialogue in this physically active play. This is a great play for all ages, and would add a light-hearted element to any 10-minute play festival that includes it in their line-up.

A glimpse inside the drama behind Drama. This play pits the need for funding against artistic integrity. Fast-paced and high-energy, this play has some comic moments interspersed between the tension of the piece. It has minimal technical demands, which great for a 10-minute play festival.

This delightful play takes place several generations after the apocalypse. Now the people of Junk Town have their own mythology and their own way of speaking. As the story unfolds, you are sucked into all of the challenges facing the inhabitants of Junk Town as they try to survive on what is left of Earth. But there is a glimmer of hope at the end of this play that they will not only survive but go on to build something new. This play is great for anyone looking for a story about the survival of the human spirit.

I had the opportunity to see the world premiere of Naming True at Urbanite Theatre. The story is a heartbreaking and beautiful look at the way our stories live on beyond us. The dark comedy that is woven throughout it holds tension with the heavy subject matter and ultimately the show offers the hope of redemption.
