  • Molly Wagner: Stiff Competition

This play is so much fun and a great take on the parents who take their children's school competitions a bit too seriously. Also - the puns are absolutely perfect!

  • Molly Wagner: The Girl in the Wall

The straight-forwardness of the way that this monologue is delivered makes her revalations and discoveries all the more haunting! This piece is both a horrifying tale and a look at the way guilt can creep back into our lives.

  • Molly Wagner: Cold Dead Heart

I was able to see this piece in production with The New Ambassadors during their Heartbroke series and I loved it! It's a really fun take on the vampire/mortal trope and is a great look at how "draining" (hehe) certain relationships can be.

  • Molly Wagner: The Scottish Playground

This is such a fun take on the antics of being backstage moments before a high school production. I love the way the Sophia weaves elements of The Scottish Play into the lives of these highschoolers - there are some really fun roles in here for young actors, too!

  • Molly Wagner: The Trouble with Mustard Greens

A bitter sweet exploration about the connection of food to culture and identity as well as the complicated relationship between mothers and daughters. I loved the way that each part of the recipe tied in to each new layer of her story.

  • Molly Wagner: In Memory of Calvinball

I just saw a production of this play with The New Ambassadors in New York and I loved it! Within the first few moments I felt like I understood the relationship between Murphy and Jones completely, but the story kept taking turns I was not expecting but was totally thrilled about. Plus, I would loe to take a crack at their wild made-up Calvinball board game mash-up. So fun!

  • Molly Wagner: SEEING EYE

This morning I saw the phrase "A good play should peel back the layers like an onion." and I thought - "What!?" But then I read this play and I got it. Each scene ends with revealing intimate, heartbreaking and incredible truths of these characters taking me into the next scene with a new understanding of who each of these characters are. With incredibly fun and honest dialogue, these characters are fun, authentic, and achingly human. The relationships are strong and nuanced but every character has a full story on their own as well.

  • Molly Wagner: DAUGHTERS of the SEXUAL REVOLUTION

Such incredibly rich and beautifully flawed characters! Their relationships are complicated and nuanced and are absolutely captivating. Dana always does an incredible job of utilizing stories of the past to reflect the present with an incredibly human element.

  • Molly Wagner: A Poison Squad of Whispering Women

Kelly does a tremendous job of drawing us completely into this world, transporting the audience into a completely different place. I loved that the language added flavor to the characters, location and time period without ever feeling stilted or forced. This play is a fascinating look at a group of women involved in such an abhorrent organization and she laid down just enough clues that left me feeling smug while alos biting my nails to figure out what was coming next.

  • Molly Wagner: American Divide

I love the way that Max gives us a group of characters we want to spend time in a bar with and thrusts them into a fictional situation that cuts very close to home, a reality that exists for many and could easily exist for many others within the near future. Full of tension, these characters share with each other just enough information to keep us intrigued while nursing their own secrets and examining the cost of seeking out a better world.
