A fascinating look at the ethics of technology. The questions asked in this play do not seem too far-fetched. In a world of machine learning and AI, the conundrums these four humans face feel so real and authentic. I loved how this play does not give us easy answers. Really want to see this play produced and I'm really interested in the conversations it will spark.

  • Shaun Leisher: gate shut panic

A really wild play about girlhood. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time with this play. Really enjoyed getting to know these complicated characters. Loved exploring the idea of sisterhood with this play and how it is a bond that can become dangerous. Need to see this play produced with all the bells and whistles.

  • Shaun Leisher: Ender's Gay

I really enjoyed this coming of age story about connecting with characters in literature. A play about queer love and trying to feel less alone. Love the magical realism that fills this play. Would love to see this produced one day. Great queer roles for actresses of color.

  • Shaun Leisher: Ado

This is a play that all Shakespeare-focused companies need to do. Less plays by Shakespeare and more that are in conversation with them like this one. Jadhwani gives us a look at what could be going through Hero's mind in between her shaming at her wedding and her second wedding. This is a play about the resilience of women and the magic of female friendships. I can not wait to see actresses take on these roles. Such a great play.

  • Shaun Leisher: SPEW'S LITTLE BABY

This play was a real mind-fuck. Can't wait to see what actors do with these roles. What an absurdly fantastic play. So much potential for sound, lighting and make-up designers to make some real magic. A gorgeous love story that goes to some really wild places.

  • Shaun Leisher: The Good Boy Game

This play is a pure mindfuck. A dissection of toxic masculinity and modern-day therapy methods. I don't want to give anything away but just read this play and be amazed by Vermillion's brilliant writing.

Siflinger really does a great job at capturing how tough being a teacher can be. She also does a great job at showing how tough being a kid can be too. I want to see this play produced. I can't wait to see what a game ensemble of actors does with this play. The doubling assignments are brilliant.

  • Shaun Leisher: Dirty Laundry

Really loved this play. Me and her father have such an authentic relationship as they deal with issues like loss and betrayal. Loved the use of the chorus and how they moved the play along. This play has a really great ending that refuses to tie things up neatly. It's a well-earned ending that is filled with truth.

  • Shaun Leisher: Will & Way

Beckett wishes he could write a play this good. Really enjoyed this hilarious and moving meditation about the ways people pursue (or not pursue) a life in the arts. Can't wait to see how a director, design team and cast does with this material. So much freedom here. So much room for big and bold choices.

  • Shaun Leisher: Holy Chicken Sandwich

I really adore this play. An absurdist look at a certain fast food restaurant that's closed on Sundays that is also an exploration on how humans react when under pressure. Jade is a wonderfully written character that you can't help but cheer for the whole time. Rockwell has written another great play that peeks into a facet of modern-day Christianity. Can't wait to see this produced with a talented and committed ensemble.
