  • That Kind of Boy [a 1-minute play]

A wonderfully cute play that will leave audiences with smiles on their faces. That Kind of Boy would be a perfect addition to any one-minute play festival.

A hysterical one-minute piece. Perfect for one-minute play festivals or theatre classes. Well done!
  • Onion Ode

What a sweet and charming piece! Usually onions will bring tears to my eyes, but Onion Ode had me grinning ear to ear. Matthew Weaver has written a gem!
  • Present Tense
    16 Mar. 2019
I was able to see a production at the College at Brockport. Very sweet and funny story about three siblings on a car trip to their mother's wedding. Super relatable. PRESENT TENSE was a big hit with the audience and would be a great addition to any 10 minute play lineup.
  • Melto Man and Lady Mantis
    19 Feb. 2019
In a word, this play is super. A hysterical short with a brilliant premise. In just seven pages, Pfeffinger brings the creativity, the thoughtfulness, and the funny. MELTO MAN AND LADY MANTIS would be a highlight of any short play festival. Bravo!
  • A Dark Horse
    15 Feb. 2019
If you've read any of Lindsay Partain's work, you know she doesn't shy away from darkness. The Dark Horse is no exception. Creepy and haunting, yet with moments of beauty, Partain gives us the character Tilla and has us helplessly watch her downward spiral. Directors will have a field day staging the Creatures. The Dark Horse would be visually incredible to experience live.
  • Hitchers
    15 Feb. 2019
Wow. Absolutely love this dark short comedy. Danley & Purcell have created this wonderful chance encounter between two serial killers. Anyone who says "never meet your heroes" is full of it! This play is hilarious and would kill at any short play festival. (Pun intended.) Produce it!

What an incredibly fun and sharp ten-minute play! Smart and clever and just a joy to read. Austgen has created characters that would be a dream for any actor to play.
Can't wait to see it on stage!
  • Penny for Your Traumas?
    25 Jan. 2019
A beautiful short play about the literal monsters that follow us. Partain's choice to portray the physical manifestation of our protagonist’s internal pain and trauma is brilliant. A director would love the creative staging opportunities this monster provides. Can’t wait to see this play on stage. Read it. Produce it.
  • The Invention of Time
    2 Jan. 2019
Wow. The Invention of Time is a terrific short play. Franky Gonzalez has written a brilliantly fascinating conversation between two inmates regarding the concept of time, the significance of hope, and the rules of society that'll have you thinking long after you read "End of Play." If time exists, use some of it to read this and then add "Even Flowers Bloom in Hell, Sometimes" to your NPX Reading List. I just did.
