  • Emily Hageman: To Cast a Red Hue

A powerful, magical play. It's beautiful and poignant and totally unique. I think this would be such a striking piece to see on stage, and would provide some truly refreshing roles for young women. A poetic marvel, cleverly designed and wonderfully executed.

  • Emily Hageman: LEENA: A PRISON INMATE MONOLOGUE

Incredible use of language. Dark, harrowing, engaging--each character that Wyndham creates is a wholly unique, fully fleshed out person who deserves attention. He gives voice to people you wouldn't expect, and you feel for them in a real way. He brings issues to light, but he never forgets the people that it affects--and Leena is a perfect example of this. Leena is the face of an issue for me now, and one that I will likely never forget. Thank you, as always, Wyndham, for evoking empathy through your masterful use of words.

  • Emily Hageman: 153

Wonderful, wonderful play. Martin's plays are absolutely genius and full of so much heart. There's pain and heartache, yes, and it's so deeply real--but Martin never leaves his readers and audience in that sadness. He gives us hope. His plays are such a gift and should be read by everyone, especially those who experience moments of profound darkness. Martin always reminds us that there is light--and this wonderfully written, perfectly executed script is just one example of that.

  • Emily Hageman: Playing With Fired

Absolutely delightful and hilarious. I love Hayet's writing--it's so bright and funny and charming. This play shines from the beginning with fast-flying dialogue, and ends just masterfully. One of the best ten minute comedies I've read--and the big, beautiful heart at the center of it is purely undeniable.

  • Emily Hageman: Oona, The Jolly Cave Woman

Lyrical and strange and beautiful, it would be wonderful to see this play staged. It is such a marvelous piece for inventive blocking. It's stark and terrible, but strangely lovely. A daring play, well-written and beautifully conceived.

  • Emily Hageman: Emily's Room

I so do love O'Grady's historical plays. She has such a beautiful way of bringing these real people to life until they become so much more than portraits in history books--they become these marvelous, beautiful humans with such remarkable vulnerability. I have never thought of Emily Dickinson as she is in this play, and now, I don't I'll be able to think of her any other way. As always, O'Grady writes delicately, warmly, beautifully, and elegantly. What a wonderful writer.

  • Emily Hageman: 80 Cards

This is one of the most brilliant monologues I've ever read. Pure delight. This is an incredible piece that needs to be performed constantly. Fantastic.

  • Emily Hageman: Life & Death & PB&J

Absolutely delightful. Sometimes theatre can just be fun, and this is a perfect example of it. Hilarious and unabashedly weird and completely silly, I adore it. It needs to be performed literally everywhere. Wonderful work as always from the great Weaver!

  • Emily Hageman: Wrong House

This is pretty much a perfect one minute play. Hilarious, adorable, heartwarming, and full of character in just one page. Also, can I just say that Trevor is the most precious name for a vampire? Love it. It deserves tons of productions, actors would have a ball with this.

  • Emily Hageman: Monsters Beyond the Midnight Zone

This play throws us right in the middle of the action. Exciting and genuinely scary, mysterious with a ton of room for really cool effects. If you aren't breathless by the end of this play, you are doing something wrong. Fantastic and visceral and totally spooky. I love everything about it. Think outside the normal ten minute plays you'd produce and go for this gut-wrenching, intense, and touching play.
