Wow! This is such a powerful play! I love the set-up and this chorus of strong strong women. It would make for such a great entry at some of the 10 minute festivals. Two plays in and I'm already a fan of Oliveira's work.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Here (three elegies for a gay club)

A haunting and beautiful tribute to Here and those beautiful beautiful people that were just there to be part of something, to be a part of an experience that took them away from the day to day for just a brief moment and that such evil was there was sickening and beyond any sort of understanding. Oliveira's elegies make the heart ache but they give words to those people who just wanted to dance for one night and to find love and friendship and a promise for tomorrow which will now never be.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Storm Clouds for Lonely Hearts

A beautiful ode to love, longing and desire. It moves with such lyricism like a foreign film from a by-gone era and would play out so beautifully on the stage with the sounds of the rain. The three vignettes flow together perfectly and who could ever resist the line "I never want salad."

  • Lee R. Lawing: SEX AND VIOLENCE (THE MUSICAL)

Nobody can make me feel better a about being a playwright than Rachael does with this play! The play is the thing they say but only when it's self-produced. Stepping into Leah's shoes was oh so real but sitting back and laughing the entire way through was the magic of Rachael's writing. Now if I could only start a GoFundMe to get the 35 mil needed for production (and to pay for any possibly accidents that befall any directors) I would feel like I've accomplished something in this world before I pass

  • Lee R. Lawing: Rrrrr Argh Blech: A Morning Play

What a zany and utterly delightful and funny play! I love the random order and being able to choose your own and had so much fun reading them in a different one a few times through. The rat vs. baby squirrel was hysterical.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Modern Miracle

When I saw Modern Miracle was the play of the day on NPX I was so excited to read it. It's so funny and such a lark and would be a hoot to see live. Some of the lines are so priceless there's too many to really call out here but I did love Lucas's line of "I don't eat anything I can't spell!" when he's served the tilapia. If Martin could only write the entire gospels, it would be a bible I would start following immediately.

  • Lee R. Lawing: The Lipstick (a monologue)

Another great piece of writing by Partain and I just love reading her work. This touching monologue makes you laugh and cry feel such compassion for the speaker. I am a fan and will enjoy reading other plays in the future.

Saw this performed by Miranda Jonte on Back Porch Theater and she brought this wonderful piece to such great life!!!

  • Lee R. Lawing: SH*T TRAIN

Brilliant capture of how work feels some times. Oh, who am I fooling, most days but that's what makes this play such an hilarious piece. Understandable that it's winning fans on both sides of the pond. I will definitely be seeing this at the Funhouse this November and how great it was to see this staged at the Funhouse in Seattle. Just saw it last night and laughed throughout! What a great short play.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Boo School

A very funny tale for Halloween. So perfect in how it all plays out. Would make a great play for any Halloween festival.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Arsinoë’s Fate - a monologue

This is a great monologue. I love history and I love people writing about the unsung people on that stage and Stubbles does such a great job in this short space of creating such empathy for this young woman. A great monologue for any one to read and to perform.
