  • Teach Me How To Telephone ( A 10 Minute Play)

This is such a lovely and loving play about family and the love of a grandmother for her granddaughter and that returned love. "Teach Me How to Telephone" shows that grand and poetic drama/comedy can come from the simplest of tasks and actions. Life never seems sweeter than it does while Elli is helping Macy prepare for her telephone interview.

A great play for our times. We all have that moment where we think we've put too much somewhere on some feed, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Guyton plays into that with such hilarity and brilliance in this ten minute wonder. It's making me rethink posting anything in the future!

Pure magic! This play is just a delight to read an would be such a true joy to see live. I love the relationship between Jim and Mr. W. and the reveal of what type of partnership it is--classic. A play that deserved its win at the Heartland Theatre Play Festival and should be reaping honors across the country. Thanks for the amazing sleight of hand.

Such a funny and perfect play that would resonate with any new sleep deprived parent but beyond that just resonate with any adult thinking they know better than their own parents because we all feel the things must always be better in the now than they were back in the day. It’s such a great set up without one false word, note or cry!

What a beautiful and heartbreaking play. Funny actually and such a sweet sweet love story. It's two wonderful parts for older actors and that's a joy in itself. Thank you Hoke for writing this special valentine!

Masterful. And oh so powerful. Squire’s play is so well excecuted that a reader or viewer is left breathless with words and visions that still echo long after you’ve finished reading or seeing this oh so fine drama.

I love this play! The grit and determination of the two women. I love that it presents two older characters showing and sharing their love and dreams and that adage of never giving up. What a treat for any theater to produce with all the water effects and the magic quality that those would offer. I’m inspired!!

What a powerful play. In these days of Trump and the calm dehumanizing of most of our society and the resurgence of the alt right that could lead so easily to another Reich, this play shows a world that could so easily be our new “normal” unless we keep on fighting for that endangered part of person-kind that was and can be human again.

This play is piece of literary magic and shows so much skill at luring the reader and audience into its web where you’re happy to be stuck!! This is one that should be seen in every elementary school out there. But I would also love to see adults playing these beautifully crafted characters because it’s a play for the young and old. Thanks for inspiring me to be a better person to help save the world from the Jumbo Trolls!
