  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: The Brightest Light

This is such a moving and powerful piece. A story between two friends who were more like sisters, and how despite them drifting apart, there is still love for one another. Lamedman does a fantastic job with the staging and characterizations here, and created such a complex and compelling play.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: A CHANCE

Smith takes you on a roller coaster with this piece, but it was one that is worth the ride. In just 9 short pages, we see the story of two women end up at the same park bench supposedly by chance. I think the greatest thing about this piece is that fact that I didn't see that ending coming. The characterizations of both women set them apart, and while their dialogue makes you think one thing, once the twist is revealed, then the whole piece makes perfect sense. Fantastic work.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Brian's Poems

This was so touching, so beautiful. The words Rinkel uses from the descriptions to dialogue are so amazing, I couldn't stop reading it without finishing it, then I had to read it again. The story of this man trying to find an old high school crushes book of poems is so interesting and intriguing. God I can't get enough of this. Brilliant work.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Car Games

That was so beautiful. I’m a huge fan of a nice slow burn, and Cathro nails it by creating a show full of these car games, leading you to wonder what exactly the end destination is. Once we get there, it hits you like a truck. This was so good.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Fable Group

This is such a fascinating piece that examines life after fame and trauma. Each character has their own voice, and I could picture this whole event taking place. There are so many complex ideas happening in this piece, it really adds to the ending standoff when Jack decides he's "had enough." The ending image with Jack really tells us what trauma can do to a person. The use of fairy tale characters to showcase real life events was insanely smart by Martineau, whose voice is very distinctive and direct!

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Forget About Me (The Breakfast Club Play)

An insanely smart piece that dives into examining the generational gap between mom and daughter. The use of 80s movies for reference, humor, and deep subject matter allows audiences to connect further to these characters. Hansen did a wonderful job with this piece, and I'm always a sucker for anything about the breakfast club.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: he died on a Sunday afternoon, in a motel, on the way to

I was so impressed and amazed by this piece. As an up and coming playwright, this is a piece I will remember and look back to. It was such a beautiful examination of the pain we as people can/will hide in silence, and examines the ways we will try to cope with tragedy.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Runaway Toys

This was a super heartwarming story that shows us the delicacy of a child's mind, and how they sometimes rely on their imagination to make them feel better. I love the use of the toys as actual characters, and I think the toys used matched their personality and also helped fuel the piece. Rachel Feeny-Williams created a simple yet brilliant work with this piece.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Pee Hot, or The St. Agnes Fiasco

Corona is a brilliant playwright who captures the comedy and absurdism of this piece beautifully and masterfully. Everything from the dialogue to the title had me entranced, and I found myself wishing for more by the end. His use of language is especially showcased in this piece, and leave you with many instances of nodding your head as you get the joke that's been getting set up for the last half a page.

  • Cole Hunter Dzubak: Garbage City Heroes

A brilliant piece of science fiction that shows that 10 minutes is just as effective as 2 hours.
