Plays like this are right up my alley (to read and write!) It's witty and endearing and has a beautiful flow and heartwarming ending. It's amazing how much character development is done here in such a short piece. Loved it!
  • Jack Stacy Hotel Detective: Episode One - Look Up Look Out (On the Air Series)

Like all of Bob's radio plays, this one is a winner! I'm a bit biased on this particular one because the character of Jack Stacy was written for me to perform. Nonetheless, this is a fun and clever take on the type of show you would have gathered around the radio for if you were living in the 1930s. So much fun!
  • Dead Brother, Will You Walk Through the Fire With Me?

I had the pleasure of seeing the first stage reading of this play. Jonny has written a very powerful piece that cleverly intertwines a tragic series of events from the past, some flashback scenes, and some present-day interactions with the victim that are brought to life by a close family member, if only in his mind. There's a lot to process in this play, but I was absolutely enthralled with the reading and would love to see it come to life on a stage.
  • The Shittiest Play

The title is not hyperbole. It literally is a very #@&$#! play. Another fun short play from Bolduc!
  • Twelve Hangry Jurors
    16 Jan. 2024
This is such a clever and fun spin on the typical "jury room" drama. Each of the twelve jurors has their own personality or quirk -- which brings an interesting spin to the biggest decision of their day (or so it would seem). Hayet has written another gem that will delight any audience!

Haunting and sad, yet beautiful in its own right. Jonny paints some poignant images in our minds as we hear these two entities speak of the atrocities brought upon them. The "character" represents so many of us Mainers, but more so they speak for those who were so close to this nightmare, whether by proximity or by relation. The poem that this is based off of is even more strikingly well written. I pray for a day when we don't have to write pieces like this as a means of catharsis. Well done, Jonny.
  • The Uninvited

For those who have fought the Uninvited before, this will definitely resonate with you (it did me). It takes a lot of courage to open up one's feelings to put words to the page and expose your innermost world. Vulnerability is not an easy thing to spotlight in oneself. This is a great monologue from a great playwright. To Chris' Uninvited: Go away.

While known moreso for his dramatic plays, Swenson proves that comedy is most definitely in his wheelhouse. A fun, clever, and witty piece. I loved it!

Another Scott Sickles masterpiece! A sweet short play that will make you laugh and go "awwwww!" at the same time. While not at the hands of a CPAP, I've rolled out of bed with some amazing bed-formed hair masterpieces over the years (I have a few pictures to prove it!) Sickles takes the concept and runs with it, masterfully.

KYLE is desperately trying to write a song for a competition, and FRANK is of little-to-no help. The witty banter back and forth between these two highlights a truly "dude" friendship. Absolutely hilarious!
