  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: James of Nazareth

I cried beautiful tears through the last 20 pages of this play. It is so well written and makes Jesus and Christianity so accessible without being preachy. Jesus is Jesus, but someone you could see having a beer with while listening to his teachings. James feels like how pretty much any of us would be should we encounter a person like Jesus today. I am so in love with this play. The characters are all strong and down to earth. You don't have to be Christian to really enjoy this. Comedy, tragedy, perfection!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: I THINK IT'S A WHALE

This play is delightfully silly. And kind of a statement on marriage, really. Sometimes it feels like you're just doing the same things over and over again. Even if you try to mix it up or change your environment, or someone outright tells you that you are repeating yourself. We may take the note and make a slight adjustment, but routine feels good...and it can be hilarious to watch from the outside.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Reclaiming the Night

This mother/son play says so much by saying so little. Helen is a free-spirit, and an impetuous idealist. Brian is intelligent and closed-off. The two have come together for one evening to fill a hole in their hearts and memories. They won't fix everything. But maybe a single shoe can kick some doors open between them.
These characters are so beautifully layered without being overt with dialogue. Lovely little strokes of emotion and depth for two actors to play.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: SKATEBOARDS AND BLUEBERRY PANCAKES

You're only as old as you feel...or as young as your spouse will allow you to be! Jack Levine generously writes fun, comedic roles for older actors outside of the typical scope. This play is no exception. Fast paced and witty banter between husband and wife and an outlandish situation will bring waves of laughter from the audience and a great evening of work for actors of a "certain (numerical) age".

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: PERSONAL BEST (A teeny Valentine for Zoom)

This is an adorable Zoom "meet cute!" At first, you think that Tony is a real "meat" head, but when his vulnerability shows the "cute" hits us all like a ton of bricks. Fast paced, funny and will leave your heart swelling with love and hope at the end. Well done! Great use of the Zoom platform!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Bulletproof Love

This poetic two-hander shows the love inside of two seemingly unbreakable people. Their masks are down as they share their hearts with the audience, but to the rest of the world, they are hard as stone. It's beautiful to see the cracks in the surface as they share their pain and their love, though they will never be together. This play is also a perfect piece to perform socially distanced in a post-pandemic world.
Ironically, their distance is what makes them seem so perfect for each other. Heart-wrenching and frightening at the same time.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Fierce Urgency Of Now

I absolutely love this! And audiences will recognize each and every one of these very well developed characters. It moves quickly, but not blink and you'll miss it quickly. Just fast enough to take you on a wonderful ride. Watching Kyle grow, but never waver from standing his ground is so endearing. And his friendship that grows with Dodo just filled my heart to swelling. I will be thinking about these characters for a long time. Thanks for sharing them, Doug DeVita!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Spot

This is a fun and whimsical piece that would be a great addition to any short play festival. The setting is simple enough, but the characters get to have fun and the lighting designer will have one great moment as well! The audience will be smiling and talking about this piece for a while when the lights come back up!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: TAP. TAP. TAP.

What a fun Zoom performance for a couple of actors! I love how the stakes get so big for these two characters and how their fear is so large it will fill the zoom window! Great opportunity for older actors in this format. Tension, with a little bit of comedy. Well done.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Can I Hold You?: A New Play on Asexuality

Human beings are so desperate to categorize and label things. They want to be able to just look at a person and know exactly who or what they are dealing with. This play battles with and eventually shatters the societal importance of all that. Kari Barclay may have given the world its first A-RomCom and it is wonderful! Not that it needs to be labeled at all. Essentially, this is just a great play you can sit back, learn from and enjoy!
