  • Jack Levine: Forgive Thyself

JOHN BUSSER is one of my favorite playwrights. His play, “Forgive Thyself”, is a thought provoking meeting between God and a Priest. John Busser challenges some of our notions of what God might look like, act like, and be like. We can believe or not, but we are sure to want to talk about our faith, or lack thereof, after reading or watching this play performed. Good work!

  • Jack Levine: Above the Fold

JULIE ZAFFARANO’s play about the reporting of the death of a rising movie star is so well-written. Throughout the play, I was totally engrossed. This play has so many layers: Truth telling versus sensationalism to sell papers; women fighting for equal treatment in a ‘man’s world‘; the wealthy controlling events to hide their shady lives; seeking fame; deciding what’s more important: writing an “Above The Fold” (title of play) story or honoring secrets told in confidence. What a wonderful play! I so enjoyed reading it! Bravo!!!

  • Jack Levine: THURSDAY MORNING, 5 A.M.

ADAM RICHTER has written a very meaningful one-minute play, which makes us think about what we should do to stop domestic abuse. “Thursday Morning, 5 A.M.” is well-written and thought provoking.

  • Jack Levine: What If, a monologue

JEFFREY JAMES KEYES’ monologue so beautifully brought me into the emotional impact of a wonderful surprise, and then reminded me of the changing currents of life none of us can control. “What If” is a question we may ask ourselves, but the answer is almost always impossible to know. This is a very powerful, emotional, and meaningful piece.

  • Jack Levine: Twenty Below

The idea of walking in twenty degrees BELOW ZERO makes me shiver. But, this short gem is simply heartwarming. CLAUDIA HASS has written such a sweet and endearing play, which I truly loved. “Twenty Below” is a beautiful play!

JOHN BUSSER can write the most witty and wonderful gems. “Climbing The Corporate Bladder” is a hoot from Its beginning to a delightful twist at the end. There is so much to like about this piece. I laughed out loud throughout and just didn’t want it to end. Great job!!!

  • Jack Levine: The Bear - Crib of Doom

CHRISTOPHER PLUMRIDGE’s “The Bear” is truly a marvelous piece of writing. It is beautifully written and has the potential of becoming even better as a longer piece. It is always a pleasure to read good work, and this is well-worth a reading. Bravo!

  • Jack Levine: That Goddam Tree

PHILIP MIDDLETON WILLIAMS is a superb writer, and his latest monologue, “That Goddam Tree”, is another marvelous piece. Larry is a white heterosexual homophobe, and his words made me cringe. His hateful words, his mean spirited thoughts, and his stupidity are evident. This monologue is a winner! Bravo!
