  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: 'E'Scape

We all want to be able to escape life sometimes but to dream willy nilly can prove dangerous, as the characters in Chris's brilliant piece confirm. The concept of the piece is very funny and well done as the audience are invited to be the studio audience for the test of Martin's big invention. As with all of Chris's pieces I've read, its' brilliantly put together and sure to provide a giggle or two!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Still Baking

This is such a beautiful piece. The terror that new parents feel, especially when things don't go to plan can be something that destroys people but Maggie has taken that horrible feeling and created this touching scene between Kev and Doug, two men trying to deal with the worst feeling the best way they know how. Its such a touching piece that would make a great part of an evening of plays.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Justin Thyme II

The adventures of Justin Thyme just keep giving. The second part me was funnier than the first with the chaotic whirlwind of back and forth dialogue between brilliantly created characters, all involved in the chaotic circumstances they have found themselves in. The whole piece is just brilliant and I'm more convinced than ever that Justin Thyme needs his own feature length play...or film.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Justin Thyme I

The avalanche of word play in this funny little piece is just an endless treat to read! It had me laughing out loud from the very beginning and I love the way the writer has created a spy story spoof so expertly. I think it would make a brilliant full length piece so we can know the full adventure of Justin Thyme. But for now...I will have to read Part 2.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: King of Cases

Right from the opening stage directions the writer has constructed a beautiful image for the audience of the 1920s and the characters within it. The phrasing in the dialogue has been brilliantly designed to match the time period, so much so that it would make a good radio play. I love every part of this play, from the almost second language that is the dialogue of Clarence to the brilliant way the author has taken the detective genre and sprinkled it with a good dollop of humour. Could make a brilliant radio serial with the many adventures of Clarence.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Final Approval

There is no 'perfect' way to memorialise those who have died but Zoe and Martin give it a damn good go! This piece explores the idea of loss with humour, witty dialogue and a lovely conclusion. Its brilliantly done as is and could easily be expanded to make more use of the brilliant dialogue.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Three Billy Bears’ Scruff

I always love a twist on a fairy tale and the writer had me at the characters with this piece! Lee has taken the tale of the billy goats and the troll and twisted and twisted it into the world of S&M and it works. Taking the fairy tale twist and adding the insight into the sexual world that is explored in this piece, it will leave an audience amused and intrigued, which is an ideal state I feel. Its a truly creative way to re-work a story.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: DON'T VOTE FOR ME

The small town mentality has always been one of support and power in community and these mentalities are brilliantly explored in this fabulous piece. As with all of Kerr's pieces I've read, he has built some brilliant characters that any audience will want to know, bond with and want to see the story unfold within their lives. That's why (in my view) it needs to be seen because any audience will bond with it on some level when they think about their own community and what it could mean if it came under jepordy. A wonderful piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Closedbook

The description of this play drew me in and the play did more than meet my expectations! The idea in itself is brilliantly executed with dialogue that leads the audience to discovery from the very beginning. In a world where social media can take over our lives, its a funny (and slightly terrifying) thought of it taking over our afterlives as well but Kelly has brilliantly explored this bizarre concept in a way that is sure to have any audience in stitches.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Hailey's Perfect Day

Everyone has bridezilla story they either know or they've been told but the one created here is truly brilliant. Its a great snapshot for those who've never been involved in a wedding to realise how stressful they can be! The characters all have great individual personalities and the quick back and forth dialogue helps the play move at a brilliant pace! I'm sure any audience will giggle from start to finish and will be able to enjoy the beautiful ending. Its the whole package!
