  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: North Pole Justice

I love a good mystery and this piece drew me in from the very beginning. I love the way the writer constructs the detective almost as a ditz to draw you in even more. I found my brain whirling with questions as I read this piece and the ending blew me away. Simple to stage but enthrawling in both dialogue and character creation. I think with the write actors this piece would be brilliant! Unsurpising it was selected for publication.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Lounging

Knowing several people in the teaching profession I found it very easy (as I believe a lot of audiences would) to relate to the brilliantly funny (if somewhat exasperated) characters that the writer has created. The piece as a whole brilliantly frames how people in this age feel about education and how it can make those employed in it feel. Couple this with the brilliantly unexpected ending and I think it would make a great festival show.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Following in Matt LeBlanc's Footsteps

The world of being a performer is tough and the writer has perfectly framed that here. The story arch of the hope of dreams coming true for it then to hit a spanner in the works is brilliantly done. You feel sorry for Matthew but you also can't help but smile at the way his friends try to be supportive. The writer has perfectly captured not only an actors attempt to fame but also the way a support circle can come to the rescue when things don't go well. A perfect snapshot of the performers life.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Quilty Conscience

There is plot galore in this piece! What starts out as just a crazy situation the two characters have found themselves in quickly becomes a deep and revealing image for the audience, not only about the characters but about their relationship, past and present, the relationship they have with their family and how one affects the other. By the end you can feel for both women in what has upset them and how (hopefully) their relationship will develop. Its a beautiful piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Scripted Characters

A fabulously funny piece that literally explores the concept of what makes up a play. While the characters represent elements of a play they have brilliantly constructed personalities and are easy to relate to (Supporting Role envy of lead role especially). Right the way through the playwright creates wonderfully witty moments between the characters that make you really think about what we really do when we write a play. Another great piece written by Chris.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Silent Vows

In a world where we are all so desperate to 'say' something all the time I think this piece is truly genius! Its a beautifully simple piece about two people who fall in love, but as in some relationships, nothing needs to be said. Its wonderfully created and I think could be very interesting to watch. You could even pair it with other scenes where nothing is said.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Bear - Beginnings

Taking an innocent item such as a teddy bear and holding him against this bleak and dangerous background is just another example of how Chris is a master at character construction. Closing your eyes you can see the tense and terrifying events that befall the bear, his master and a little girl during WWII. Having read Chris's 'bear' works before I think that when put together these monologues would make a brilliant full length piece about the journey's this bear makes as each one leaves you wanting more.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Bot of Ill Repute

This piece had me at the description! The moment Luella said her second line I was laughing out loud. From there the truly extraordinary scenario unfolds. The more I read the more intrigued I was, with moments of laughing out loud. The writer has created a truly unique moment in time where you, as the audience are privileged enough to witness these very out of place characters go through the chaos that ensues. Its a brilliantly written funny piece that I think would look spectacular on a stage. I'm also keen to know more!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Putt-Putt

Just goes to show, you never really know the people you work with. George has a wonderful gift for creating brilliantly chaotic scenarios full of witty back and forth dialogue between well crafted characters and this is just another example of that. I really wanted to play mini golf when I'd finished reading it! This would be a great addition to a one act play festival....maybe on a golf course! ;-)

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: To the Zoom and Back

This is such a lovely piece despite being set in a world that we are all familiar with, where Covid doesn't allow us to have a 'normal' dating life. The characters Cindi has created for this virtual date are lovely and the interaction had me smiling pretty much all the way through. This piece is proof that Covid hasn't quite ruined all theatre. A touching and lovely piece that deserves a stage.
