  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: NEEDS WORK

Firstly I loved the business names used here (both of them!). If those names don't have you smiling from the very beginning of this chaotic piece then the demands of the 'employer' will certainly have you hoping that you NEVER find yourself in Claire's position. Both characters feel real in the sense that by the end you can't help but feel sorry for Claire and (for me at least) I was fairly sure I knew someone like Madison. For that reason alone this will speak to an audience, as well as make them laugh!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: November: A Ten-Minute Play

Holidays with families are complicated and in this case frustrating. James has created a character you can't help but feel sorry for as his family argue about who said what to who, what it meant and why its an affront to their very being. This play offers a wonderful balance of drama and comedy (both verbal and physical) as the quick witted back and forth arguments as well as the slamming of doors offers the audience a brilliantly created snapshot of what holiday with the family can be like, all with poor Kevin in the middle!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: MIRACLE LAKE

Families are complicated, everyone knows this and Susan has very much created a complicated family in the Langdon's. I don't want to reveal too much but, as an audience, you are drawn into the lives of this family, and their highs and lows that occur in both the past and present. Coupled with the enticing dialogue and story an audience will obsess over you also have some fascinating imagery throughout. This family and their story need to be brought to life!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Moving Day

Despite the heartbreaking subject at its centre, there are moments of tenderness in this emotion-provoking play that explores the relationship between mother and son as well as the subject of loss and family. Its a piece that's sure to draw a tear or two as you discover the truth about Patrick. The two very different characters are brought to life in a wonderful way and their interaction is sure to invoke emotions in the audience and bring forth a tear or two. Its as beautiful as it is heartwrenching.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Mr Bennet's Bride

I have always been a fan of reimaginings of classic characters and "Mr Bennet's Bride" is a fabulous example. Emma has provided a wonderful tale of humour emotion and the exploration of complex character relationships. This play offers something to all kinds of audiences, from those who love classic Austen to those who love a play loaded with fresh perspective! It's a play that offers a cast of various ages and gives performance a wonderful chance to play some enchanting characters.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: My Hired Hand

In a world where technology is often used to make things to destroy, it's such a pleasant relief to see it doing some good! Chris has created a wonderfully touching monologue that gives you a warm feeling as you get to be a part of this child's joy at his new hand. Wonderfully written and would be a great character for a young person.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Love, the Sinners

Something is terrifying about the fact that this play is set 'now' and the decisions being made and enforced by an educational facility sound like something that could be all too real. Maggie has created a theatrical powerhouse by introducing an audience to this group of teens and their struggles before they take a stand against said struggles. It's a play that offers wonderful roles to young people as well as make an audience consider just how dangerous 'enforcing' certain kinds of rules can be to the individual and what kind of path it can lead society down.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: L'Istesso Tempo

A fascinating exploration of how the same words can mean so many different things depending on the situation and who you share them with. That's the wonderfully unique scenario Chris has created here as Zena endures a night of three-speed dates with different reactions and results. It would make a fabulously funny piece for a festival and offers a great opportunity for playing characters who are so very different, despite part of the words being all the same.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Lab Rats

A perfect example of relationships growing from the strangest of places. That's what Patrick gives us here, two wonderful characters that you get to watch grow and form a bond as they struggle through the difficulties and hardships of being a test subject. The medical track and the personal track of their relationship move along at a wonderful balance with characters so so wonderfully created that you can't not feel invested in them. For performers, audiences and directors this would be a dream of a production to be involved in!
