A beautifully touching and yet simple piece that could easily be expanded out into a one act piece. I think this would be a perfect audition piece as it is powerful and beautiful.

I loved this piece, it had a wonderful array of characters and the opening scene had a 'Withnail and I' feel to it. I could most definitely see it on television.
  • END OF PLAY.

A delightful back and forth between multiple characters which is very easy to relate to as a characters. I think it could be part of a bigger piece and looking at the quality of the dialogue it would be just as funny.
  • Young Soldier

A very distinctively voiced character who provides an insight into the world of being a soldier. Very interesting to read!
  • I'm a fan (A Monologue)

A wonderful commentary of gender stereotypes! The characters has a great voice and I love some of the phrasing used. Despite being a short piece I believe it successfully told a story of a great character and revealed a lot about our society as a whole.
  • End of an Era
    2 May. 2021
A very funny piece that only escalates in laughable moments as you go through. In addition to the physical action there is also a lovely opposition between the two characters which creates the wonderful back and forth between them. A lovely piece to read (I could see someone like Maggie Smith playing Miss Leclair!)
  • Paradise, Stayed

Wonderfully tense dialogue that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat until the very end. Believable characters with lifelike dialogue (you can almost hear the anguish in Virginia’s voice when she talks about her daughter). Very different but all complicated relationships between the children and Virginia that its very easy to get invested in. All of this coupled with a powerful ending made this a great piece to read.

Having read the synopsis of this piece I was really intrigued but then gutted to realise it wasn't here to download. Would be very interested in reading the whole play.
  • The Springboard, or: What a Play Is or Can Be or Will Be, or: a Thank-You Note to Matthew Weaver

From the moment I started reading I found it earie how I recognised the voices. This piece perfectly emulates all of those feelings a writer goes through and creates a lovely friendship between Steve and Matthew. All of the characters are very believable and I can almost picture Steve in a very claustrophobic environment when its just with the voices and then when Matthew opens the door with his support it allows his imagination to expand and his confidence to grow (of course that’s just me!). A great piece to read.
  • Coq au Vin (a monologue)

This piece has quality elements in droves! Its so relatable in situation with the desire to impress. Personally I know how daunting a wine aisle can be so I could almost see this woman in my local supermarket looking lost! The language she used also made the character very believable. I laughed out loud at certain points but I won’t share when so I don’t ruin it for other readers. It is my believe that quite a few women on seeing this piece would think ‘oh god I know how she feels!’
