  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Day Shift of the Dead

So its official, the world of capitalism doesn't take a day off, even in the event of a Zombie apocolypse! That's the wonderfully funny and satyrical world the audience find themselves in this play, where Bert is simply trying to survive, because the worst has happened! The audience knows this from the word go and from there the amusement floods in, in the form of various people in Bert's life who believe that they should still be entitled to make their demands of him, regardless of who might eat their brains. A fabulously funny piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Droofus the Doofus

The tale of Droofus is very much where storytelling and entertainment meet and have a jolly good time. Patrick has taken the art of story telling and sprinkled in some entertaining characters who share the story with the audience in a wonderful way. Its a tale that leaves you with moments of smiles, moments of intriegue and many moments of wondering what will come next!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Baton: An Undead Cheerleader Musical

We had the great pleasure of reading this piece as part of our Sunday night play reading. I love this series of plays by Patrick, so imaginative and the perfect production for enthusiastic youngsters!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Daffodilly-Ding-Dong

Once again, Chris has taken the everyday entity of a flower and turned them into a beautiful collection of characters! This piece needs to be scene simply because its a play that will provide an AMAZING visual as well as the lovely adventure the audience are able to be a part of! Would make a great play for young children to be part of and I can imagine designing it would be an absolute dream!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Come Like Shadows

The thing that stands out for me about this addictive play is the wonderfully poetic language and imagery that Gemma creates from that. It's a story that draws its audience into the point where what comes next is something you NEED to know. It's a haunting piece that creates moments of tension and intrigue in equal measure and keeps you addicted and wanting to know more, right to the very last word! For those who love a spooky tale, this one is for you!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Choosing You

Ooooo! That Ending! Our lives are full of choices and sometimes we do find ourselves wondering 'what if'? What if we'd gone right and not left? What if we'd quit that job? What if we'd ended up with a different person? That is what Rachel analyses so brilliantly here. We, as the audience get to see what Aurora's life could have been like, had certain decisions been different. It's not only a fascinating piece to watch but it would be an interesting piece to debate in the pub afterward!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Cam Baby

The pace of the dialogue is mentioned in the initial pages of this script and it rings true right the way through. This fascinating play about relationships, privacy, and how we deal with people in an age dominated by technology and social media offers a great number of discussion points as you become a fly on the wall for this interesting and amusing story as it unfolds. Its a fascinating piece that offers so much to its audience but it also offers a great chance to play six fascinating and very real characters for 20 something performers!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Coin Pusher

This is a piece that will wrench at the heartstrings for all sorts of reasons! Marshall has created characters that you can hear as real and allowed the audience to be a fly on the wall as the innocent perspective of a girl questions 'grown-up things' while the grown-up doesn't see how their addiction is affecting their life and their relationship with their loved ones. It's a powerful and emotional piece that offers plenty of wonderful (albeit sad) moments.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Cassandra: A Steampunk Romance

Right from the opening stage directions, my mind's eye was drawn into this amazing world that Chris has created! From there you are presented with a wonderfully constructed epic tale that twists and turns through the worlds of life beyond death, love, vengeance and mystical creatures. Even when read its a play that you can see through your mind's eye and I know that it would make an AMAZING production to watch, direct, design and be a part of! Read it and be astounded by the realms of Chris's imagination!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Before You Submit

Gatekeeping is not exclusively an issue for playwrights, which is one thing I think Brenton has layered into this play very well, the decision from enthusiasm to frustration to anger to abandonment is a path that is all too familiar for any creative and therefore will resonate with a lot of audiences. It's a piece that offers a snapshot of what it's like to be a playwright and is sure to have an audience walking out of a theatre sympathising with those desperate to make it on the creative ladder. A wonderfully real piece!
