  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Cupid Retires . . . Again! (A Monologue)

I felt conflicted after reading this wonderfully unique tale from Cupid. Initially I thought it was a wonderfully funny piece with beautiful moments about love but then I realised...its a sad fact that a creature of love is being sacrificed because he can't keep up with technology. This piece not only provides a lovely character in Cupid himself but I think it will make audiences think about 'modern love'. Personally, a hand delivered arrow sounds miles better than a text message but what will a modern audience think? Its a piece that entertains and has you thinking, brilliant!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Crime Hardly Ever Committed

The idea of two people doing anything for the person they love is one that has always held a dear place in my heart. In this play Lee has weaved a tale of two Navy sailors doing just that. There's wonderful moments of humorous language as the audience are privileged to watch something that we should all aspire for, doing anything for that person we love. Its sure to tug on the heart strings!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: See, This is Why I Hate Plays

This wonderfully unique perspective on the world of creating theatre this fabulously protrayed here. The way the two characters 'deal with' where they are, what they are doing and why they are there is very different, which just adds another humerous element to this piece. Its a piece that will resonate with creatives and amuse an audience, what more could you need?

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Moon's Blessing

Such wonderfully powerful imagery is painted here in this tale of love. Sam shows as well as tells in this brilliantly constructed piece as well as leaves the audience with a poignant thought of going out to find love for yourself. Its got everything you could ask for.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Da Da!

As a piece of theatre and a method of writing, this is fabulous! I've always admired the work Deb can produce and for me this was no exception! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to try this way of writing myself, sadly though I do not have a cat!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Twice in a Lifetime

AWWWWWW! This is just so bloody adorable I couldn't help but smile! Taking the rare beauty that is an astrological phenomenon and then coupling it with the lovely bond that Astra and Halley share in this moment is a match made in heaven! There's not much more to say than I adore it and thanks to Deb and this piece when I look up at the night sky now I'll have a nice warm feeling in my heart, yes its mushy I know but its entirely justified!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: ONE

Communication is key in any relationship and that is what Chris has done a wonderful job in testing here. Red Font and Black Font clearly have things they want to get off their chest and express and those emotions are captured brilliantly, both in the tensioned filled one word back and forth (I say tension filled because you will find yourself dying to know what they are going to say next), but then the emotion is beautifully captured in the outburst that perfectly captures how important words are. Well done Chris, you've used so little but said loads!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Southern Family Planning - A Farce

Ooooo! Deb is crafty with this one! First you can feel yourself smiling at the word play and puns as they escalate through the conversation about something that should be simple (the acquiring of contraception) but then just at the last moment, wham! Deb presents a powerful though provoking punchline which, when i read it, stopped me dead. The term 'farce' becomes not only the style of the piece but the elements of modern society that it comments on, very clever, but then from Deb I expect nothing less.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Run Along Now

I'm always in awe of people who can write one minute plays! The ability to take a story with characters that you want to believe in/relate to and frame it so it does feel like a story rather than a scene is a true gift. That is something Sam has done really well here. Not only does this piece leave you with a warm feeling as you are privileged to watch this lovely moment between mother and son but it also comes with a lovely moral about accepting others and just being yourself. Bravo Sam! Brilliantly Crafted!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Sex In Strange Places And Other Self Help Guidance For Couples Over 50 Who Want To Stay Together

Having produced the prequel to this play "Coming in" as an audio play, was very much looking forward to the further adventures of Malcolm and Janet, which we got to hear read at our Valentines Special play reading. I found it wonderfully amusing to see Janet, as a woman wanting to keep the sexual spark alive discussing it with her bewildered husband. Not only does it give great opportunity for older performers but it provides a social commentary about the different ways we think about sex across the generations. I think Janet and Malcolm need their own sketch show!
