  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Destination - Full Length Horror Play

Ryan has an amazing gift to write work the holds the audience in the palm of its hand and The Destination is a prime example of that! Gretchen, Tom and Marilyn find themselves in a motel after being trapped in a blizzard and through Ryan's expertly constructed scene, loaded with tension and the perfect pace of discovery, they start to realise that all is on as it should be. I won't say any more for fear of ruining the wonderful twists for you but this play NEEDS a production! It will hold your audience on the edge of their seats!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Playwright Asks... "What if?" PART TWO

Sam's playwright continues to ask the questions that a lot of creatives are asking or have asked of themselves and he does it in a wonderfully realistic way that I can almost imagine the words coming out of my mouth. "A Playwright Asks..." is a truly fabulous series of plays that Sam has constructed in a brilliant way complete with witty, fast paced and relatable dialogue. A tremendous serial achievement!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Frozen: A Monologue

Something I will always applaud Deb on with her monologues is her ability to create wonderfully real feeling characters to talk to the audience. That is exactly what she has done here. We all deal with time differently and we all wish we could have that moment of time standing still to do our special thing that we've always wanted to do. Listening to this character describe their moment is a true privilege to witness. Its a piece that won't fail to make you feel and would make a wonderful performance opportunity for, well anyone! Its wonderfully accessible that way!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: BANSHEE

This wonderfully atmospheric ghost tale gave me goosebumps! The vast coasts and countryside of Ireland is LOADED with myths and legends and Adam has wonderfully captured one here! Not only is the tense thrill of the piece captured perfectly but its a piece I could happily read more of!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Yes?

So, there were two things that instantly came to my mind here, which proves that even one word can say a lot! The rhythm of the dialogue going back to 'now' reminded me of a child being sat in a car going 'are we there yet?' and then 2 seconds later 'how about now?' The other thought was an all consuming desire to know what these two people were discussing but then I realised, that's the cleverness of this play. You could give it to 10 different sets of performers and each would produce a different result! Fascinating to create!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Wages of Sin

We all worry about our sins and trying to escape from them but Jonathan has taken that notion and placed a truly wonderful twist on it. Felix is a man with sins that he wants to 'sell on' or at least he had proof he did for his boys, and Olivia... well by the end of this she was the woman who put a smile on my face and gave me faith that there are good people out there. I won't say any more, I don't want to ruin it (as though I could ruin this play) but READ IT!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Name Dropping

The conversation about baby names has been had by hundreds of thousands of parents and the reasons to choose or not choose a baby name as just as varied as the names themselves. That is what Deb has brilliantly captured here, the idea of a name being an identity bestowed upon you by your parents that can alter parts of your life (so no pressure). The back and forth 'name debate' makes for a brilliant piece that really captures the essence of the age old quotation 'what's in a name?' Great stuff Deb!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: I Am He

Oh my god! There is a moment in this piece where I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach (in a good way). I'd not looked at the keywords so I got to sit blissfully unaware enjoying the lovely innocent back and forth between father and son before Deb's twist caught me completely off gaurd! As with so many of Deb's plays, she constructs the characters and the situation and lulls you into a story where you think you know what's going on and then flips it on its head before you know where you are! So beautifully sad!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Playwright Asks... "What If?" PART ONE

Having read Part Three of the playwright asks series I felt I had to go back and start at the beginning. Sam has created something where the feelings and the questions are so genuinely real and easy to relate to as anyone who has attempted something creative that can be judged by others. The creation of the voices and the characters is wonderfully done but for me the playwright is the greatest creation. At one point I wanted to give him a hug! As an audio piece I think it would work great as a soundscape of questions and thoughts!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Bucking the CIS-tem

We had the great privilege of reading this piece during our Sunday evening play reading and I found it a real eye-opener. Marcia is an 'old school' teacher with no desire to change in any way and Leila is very quick to put her in her place in a series of quick and witty dialogue. It's poignant, it's powerful and the final speech really packed a punch! Another fab piece from Deb that showcases teachers who have been in the profession too long!
