  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Your Gaze (a monologue)

Well...that's me crying! This monologue is truly beautiful in the raw way that the characters exposes their vulnerability when it comes to one of the most powerful emotions we posses. You feel for the character and with them because while you, as a reader may not have ADHD, people do question why a person loves them and that is the feeling Scott has captured so beautifully here. I think if read by a young person it could be a very powerful audition piece and definitely brought tears to this readers eyes.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: i'll take

There is a wonderful naturalness to the words of this piece. You can see the natural thought process of humanity in it. It expresses our feelings about life, all the things that bring us joy and make us who we are. Its a wonderful piece that you could do so much with in performance.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Return to Mother's Nest

I am...utterly terrified in the best possible way! The complete chaos as Madison tries to engage the chaos of Crystal's mind. As I read I imagined the dialogue getting faster and faster, almost like a train that you can sense is going to derail at some point. This play presents you with heart pounding tension and you will want to read it more than once (I did). It would make an amazing piece that will leave an audience breathless in a great way! Brilliantly constructed.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Blue Birds (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

We had the great privilege of reading this wonderful piece for our Sunday night reading and, as is the way with Deb's pieces, it reveals loads and is brilliantly written! Its a perfect framing of how couples can fall into the back and forth about life. The dialogue is brilliantly natural and, like all Deb's plays, she frames relationships brilliantly well with characters you feel for, wrapped in brilliantly funny dialogue with a beautiful ending. She's a brilliant creator and this piece is a prime example.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Pressure Points

We read this play at our Sunday reading and...I felt dirty as I read, which, believe it or not is a good thing. Deb forces her audience to consider how degrading and humiliating the working world can be for women when forced to work for the Donegals of the world. I found myself hating this man more and more as the play went on. Once again, Deb creates a wonderful social commentary on how the world can be, and it is ugly to see! This is an incredibly powerful piece and would be amazing to see.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Puritans - A Script In A Day

We had the great pleasure of having this piece read for our Sunday night play reading. Its a powerful and stirring piece that captures the imagination and stirs the soul to think about the situations of the time. Both Meg and Widow are characters of female power and the whole piece could stand a as a prominent example of how the events of history can make us think about our presence and how things have changed.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Al Capone Does My Shirts

As soon as I started reading this great play I was struck by the wonderful way that David creates the initial childlike dialogue, making these innocent children amusing and wonderfully believable as they talk about the life of their families. Interlacing that innocence with the dark and dangerous world of dangerous criminals makes for a wonderful piece with places of humour, quick and witty dialogue and a fascinating story. It certainly makes you think twice about what you know about Al Capone. A great play with a cast spanning all ages!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Night Witch

It can be hard to have one character engage an audience for the entirety of a performance, but George does it and dies it incredibly well! You are drawn into Masha's story to the point where if you close your eyes you can see the scenes she describes in such wonderful detail. I've found frequently that one of George's great skills is to create characters you want to watch and stir emotions. For me, Masha is a prime example of that. Its a story that should be seen and needs to be experienced!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Stephanie. From the Posters.

The delicate balance of being a father to a teenage girl is complicated at the best of times, but when you throw in the horrible circumstances that Paul has been through...you have to applaud his efforts. Samantha creates an emotional rollercoaster that starts as escalating tension between the two dads before they bond over the life experience they share, trying to be father's in a teen girl world. Its a wonderfully written piece with a twist I never saw coming! Would be very much intrigued to see more, as would an audience I suspect.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: All In A White Trash Pie

So, what starts out as a 'meet cute' in a supermarket on Thanksgiving provides a wonderful smiling moment centred around the beginning of a relationship. Miranda then swiftly turns it on its head as time moves on and said relationship changes, but the beauty regarding how this play is written, is that you are DESPERATE to know the why, which is slowly revealed to you at an expertly sculpted pace and by the end you want to see more of the relationships between these fantastic characters and, as sickly sweet as it sounds, I'd consider trying that pie.
