  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Suburban Zombie Princess

This is a wonderful piece that explores both the very real and the undead! The concerns expressed about this character about how much she denied herself in life will ring true with some and that makes this a relatable piece, even with the Zombie twist! Jacquelyn has a wonderful gift of creating unique and well written relatable plays that I could read all day!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: There Is No Play

The censorship of creative work is something that people face every day unfortunately. Arthur has taken this concept and explored it with powerful (and for me almost rhythmic) language. You feel for these kids, desperately trying to express themselves creatively while their parents have other ideas. It portrays an important message about creative freedom and for that reason alone this is a play that needs to be seen. An incredible work from Arthur Jolly!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Dormancy

Not gonna lie, I uttered an outloud 'no!' at the end of this piece. Reunion can be a wonderfully amazing or a devastatingly awful thing in a persons life. I won't tell you what Scott gives but its a piece that will serve up emotions and twists in droves. As a reader/audience you are invited to see how 40 years has changed Darren and Neil, and how some things haven't changed. As with many of Scott's other plays, the dialogue offers emotion to the point where you can't help but feel for the characters when you reach the end.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Last Words

Philip creates a wonderful layer cake of biting and witty back and forth dialogue in this piece. As you move from speach to speach between the siblings, with each desperately trying to out do the other, you can't help but smile and then laugh! The dialogue, which starts great does a wonderful escalation until you reach a full scale fight (which even though I had an incling was going to come, was still a wonderfully funny moment.) Philip has created a wonderfully funny snapshot in this piece, you can almost see their father in the afterlife, rolling his eyes!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: He Said It With Flowers (Monologue)

As I finished reading this piece I could almost hear the anguished "ohhhhh" in the back of my mind. Richard's infidelity is frankly and humourously discussed by his wife (and the incorrect owner of some flowers, numerous other gifts and quote honestly a nauseating note). Paul is able to stir so many emotions with this monologue that an audience will be able to relate to. You come away loving Karen's dry and witty comeback and personally, I was ready to cheer for her. Another wonderfully written piece by Paul.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: You're Working the Checkout at Albertsons

What a person goes through working in the retail industry can be described as a different journey every day of the week. That is what Christian has given us here. As an audience you are invited into a snapshot of the clerk's story telling as he stirs all kinds of emotions. It would be a wonderful and powerful piece for any actor to perform because its a piece that holds. You want to know the story and you will be captivated by the moments shared within it.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: What We Inherit

We had the great privilege of hearing this play read as part of our Sunday night play reading and its truly wonderful! Its a brilliantly crafted story about relationships (both romantic and family) and the complexities that come with them. The story draws you in to the point where you NEED to know how its going to proceed. Its wonderfully rewarding as a piece of theatre to read and needs to be seen. If performed any audience will walk away knowing they have seen a wonderful piece of theatre!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Release the Karen!

I am still laughing!! This play is just fabulous! Taking a very much modern phenomenon and applying it in an ancient setting is brilliant in itself but then John sprinkles it with a liberal dose of his wonderfully funny dialogue. There isn't much more to say other than I just love this piece! It wouldn't be out of place in a TV sketch show and could be the start of a 'Karen' series! Very well done to the writer and if you are looking for a laugh out loud comedy then this is for you!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Muses Of Humanity

A very intriguing piece about the concept of art and being an artist. Just as Sasha questions, I think the way this play has been constructed will leave the audience questioning and debating, which is never a bad thing. There is a dark undertone to a play that initially seems to have quite a simplistic scenario. It will draw you in, make you question and have your audience debating long after the curtain has gone down. It will make an impact and that is what makes it a great piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Five

Secrets and revelations can be difficult at the best of time but when a secret has been held for so long there is no telling how a person will react. That is the world Jaxson explores in "Five" where a boy faces a secret about his own life. The characters are beautifully constructed and there is a wonderful closeness between them. The play gives such tremendous amounts of emotions you can't fail but feel for Julian. That role could be an amazing part for any actor to play and the piece is sure to leave a tear.
