  • Christopher Plumridge: Body And Soul

Ooooh what starts off quite innocent soon becomes dark...darkly funny! Simon pretty much learns his lesson in the worst and most unusual way. I think this would be a fun play to perform!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Thalia's B&B

This is great fun, I think we can all relate to this one way or another. I often question the characters I've created: "are you real, do I know you?" Maybe there are snippets of real people in all our characters? Aside from this, I especially enjoyed Emmit when he finally woke up and joined the conversation!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Blinded

As a stepfather to a registered blind stepson I can relate to this, he did so very well at his 3 years of college in computing. Ross has this piece and its message spot on, right down to the easy going, respectful relationship between student and tutor. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: ICE IS NICE

Ha, this is nice and sweet! I'm not sure many ladies would appreciate being dragged onto a frozen lake even for this question! Such a lovely piece in so few lines!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Forgive Thyself

I loved this two hander by Busser, slick and funny. I'm not religious so I won't comment too deeply, but to watch the priest slowly come to terms with who is before him is a real delight! I'd love to listen to his following sermon, whether or not the priest has had anymore whiskey. Wonderful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Boogie Man

This is truly tense and disturbing short play, what starts as an innocent first date soon turns into something quite sinister. Hall created this scenario perfectly in such a short piece, as usual I am left wanting more!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The First Sip

So here we have a short but perfectly accurate snapshot of the moment the bars opened post lockdown, friends past and new meet for their first drink out, their commaraderie is admirable as they wait to drink their first sip together in many months. Reminds me of the infamous scene in the film 'Ice Cold in Alex'. Sweet!

  • Christopher Plumridge: These Eyes (a monologue)

In a strange, round about way I can relate to my namesake in this important monologue by Sickles. At school I was the shortest in my year by far, I was faced with two choices, curl up and hide, or stand up and tell everyone to accept me for who I am, thankfully I chose the latter. Christopher in this piece does just that, proving the point to himself more than his peers. Excellent and profound.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Crater

CRATER is a moving and beautiful tale. Because I chose not to read the subject matter keywords the twists in this story took me by surprise. A tale of missing love, of unspoken love, turns into a newly formed love between the two characters that neither saw coming. Beautiful.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Takeout

TAKEOUT is perfectly awkward, funny and claustrophobic in equal measure. I found the interaction between the two characters to be quirky and at times difficult, their conversation going up and down in the stuck lift. Is he a stalker? What is the definition of a stalker? Will he become a stalker? We'll never know but I did enjoy this quandary!
