  • Christopher Plumridge: THE BRIDAL WAVE

I have just listened to this play on the wonderful Open Door Playhouse podcast. It's sharp, poetic, lyrical and darkly funny. I commend the playwright on shedding light on a moment in history, in such a unique and funny way. Do read or have a listen.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Why the Hell is it so Hard to Write a Recommendation on NPX? A Monologue

    Spot on!
I mean, what else do I say?
I'm drained.... I put all my efforts into the six plays I've started of which only one is finished.....
    Eeek....!
Well done Izzy, you've captured the many thoughts of many writers!

  • Christopher Plumridge: New, From the Makers of LaffTrax...

I cant help feeling like the hero of this piece...why only today I actually wore a white lab coat at work....
In true BUSSER brilliantness, John serves up a miracle cure for malaise, upset Billy the Kid, threw in a who's who of playwrights, and concocted one hilarious short play.
I also love the way this is staged, a wonderful amalgamation of suburban life and television advertising.
"Now get some BUSSER into your work-a-day lives, just take a MorNorkin!"

  • Christopher Plumridge: Psychelysis

In true Noel Coward style, Russell delivers us such a sweet and elegant short play here. Set in a slightly higher than average French restaurant, Julia (soft J) delivers what would normally be a potential blow to her admirer Gerald (Soft G?).
Light and fluffy as a perfect soufflé,this play is a total delight!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Best Decade - 2 minute monoloue

I can just imagine Noreen narrating this short monologue as she arranges her flowers. She's bright, wary, clever and has lots of bugs.... but this cute meet proves a sweet way to get rid of the creepy crawlers once and for all! Lovely!

  • Christopher Plumridge: QUICKSAND, a one person play

A metaphor for so many feelings I'm sure, for the impact of this piece is as deep as the sand, and the predicament the protagonist finds themselves in.
This would make a great audition piece, as there are several ways to tackle it.
    Very good.

  • Christopher Plumridge: HARPSICH0RD, a gaming monologue

It is hard to imagine the subject of this monologue really goes on. It simply should not, yet it does, not just in this scenario but everywhere online. So many secret cowards and bigots hiding away online, probably not realising just how badly their words and actions affect women.
This is a clever monologue as it sounds like it is from direct experience.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Hunk

What a fun comedy this is, as we see grownups at the gym stoll behaving like high school kids with a new crush. It's fresh, full of nice silly antics which will please any audience. I'm not usually a fan of stage directions, but the ones Sisan has put into this play should be, when staged, followed meticulously, by doing so would make a truly hilarious production!
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Two Artists Trying to Pay Their Bill

What fun characters Wang and Chen are! Such fun, creative artists who find a unique way to pay their extortionate bill and the owner is a funny character too.
Actors will have so much fun hamming this up to 15 minutes I'm sure!

  • Christopher Plumridge: 10min - On The Other Side

This is a clever, short performance piece which challenges us to stop and think about how we converse with strangers, and how they converse with us.
I admired how it is staged, with the slightly disturbing line: "It's nice to feel safe, isn't it?" Are we safe, do we make others safe? So many questions...
    Clever!
