  • Christopher Plumridge: CAN YOU GUESS MY SECRET - a one minute monologue

Thankfully we've largely evolved for the better following previous generations view that children should be seen and not heard.
This is a beautiful monologue from the heart, and the ending will melt any cold heart.

  • Christopher Plumridge: JUST SIT DOWN

I always enjoy a fun afterlife play, but those one blows them out of the water! (two inside jokes there)
Manny and Janine meet at a lake side and soon enough figure out they are dead, but are they prepared?
Such a fun short play, audiences will love it.
Oh and the reason for Janines demise is totally inspired!

  • Christopher Plumridge: THE CORNER BAR - A ten minute play

Perfectly dark humour played out in a late night bar. Bringer of this dark humour is Death then self, and they are not hear for a nightcap either, as the bar flies soon find out.
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Valen-Stein's Day

I love this! A play full of stage directions and just one killer of a final line! It would be great fun for a young actor to get to grips with and have a (valentines?) ball with! And surely one heck of a challenge for the props department....
    Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Void Space (Or What The Dark Makes Visible)

Oooh intriguing! After reading this short, difficult and claustrophobic short play, I'm left with so many questions! Who are both men, who put them where they are and who speaks in the wall? I believe this would make a wonderful radio play.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Sometimes, When It’s Night, I Run Through the Neighborhood Naked and No One’s Caught Me Yet

This lovely short play gives us two characters in a quite dire situation at just the time of year where we all want to be settled and safe. Cathro writes with such compassion that the reader and audiences alike will be rooting for them both as a brighter future looks possible despite a difficult now.
Now I want to know what that last secret is! The title perhaps?

  • Christopher Plumridge: Cheer Up

Ha, I love this! We all love the poem for sure, it's a classic. And this is a classic example of what might have inspired Edgar in the first place, to write, or not to write the poem. And it's nice to hear a bit more from the Raven itself, rather than just Nevermore.
And the final sentence had me laughing out loud! Wonderful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Cat's Pajamas

This short play is real cool, banging and out there! Reading like an episode of The Twilight Zone (as mentioned within) we soon begin to wonder just what these boxes contain, and just who is Phyllis? Questions which could be answered in a longer, darker version of this fun short piece?....

  • Christopher Plumridge: Early One Evening at the Miskatonic University Ladies Auxiliary Book Club

Not being familiar with the author H.P.Lovecraft did not defer me from thoroughly enjoying this very funny, very dark short play. Amongst a girls night in with wine, food ,a book nearly no-one has read, there's one fabulous monologue resting in the pages.
Plus, I'll have what Lavinia has had please, sounds.... devastatingly delightful.
This play is Mr Busser at his darkest best.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Love Trap

Ha! This is the first time I've heard Love being described as 'A biochemical con artist' ! While this is a fast paced, clever and funny monologue, there is also a fair bit of sadness. For it's true, a sometimes love has a limited life, and so can the pop song it evokes.
If you're lucky like me, love can live long in the heart as can a classic tune from our youth.
A very unique monologue however you take it.
