  • Christopher Plumridge: Family History

Well, here's a family with an awful lot of history!
The tension builds dramatically as we follow siblings Michael and Sydney travel back to their home in Kansas, but there's no wizardry dream here, but a past event which was always going to come back to bite them.
This is Rachel doing what she loves best, and the twist she throws at us at the end will have audiences reeling!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Emergency Dream

Wow, this short play really hits hard. Emergency dispatchers must have a tough and emotional time, they are the first port of call, they must hear the worst. BOLDUC tackles this, and the management of these poor dispatchers, with honest grit. This would make a very powerful performance piece.
    Gripping and moving.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Gag Economy

    Oooh, hell have no fury!
What an incredible, dark monologue this is! I dintbwant to give anything away here, so I won't, but this will make for a fantastic challenge for an actor taking in this role and audiences will be gripped, just dying to know who is behind the mask and just what this woman is up to!
    Brilliant!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Drought

Ha! Having read several of Rachel's plays, I could see a twist coming as this monologue progressed. But I didn't expect a twist like this.
Acted skillfully, this piece could really turn the audiences expectations on their head, causing a good laugh at the end I'm sure!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Mick Jagger is Eighty Years Old - A Monologue

I echo...Mick Jagger is 80? I love the sentiment in this piece, perfectly set in a bar with a bottle if beer. History is relative, and the war really wasn't that long ago, but to think that to early Rolling Stones days the war was only as recent as 9/11 is to us, is a really wake up call.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Learning to Drive - A Monologue

Such a powerful sentiment in so few words. How we take for granted having a drivers licence, yes they are difficult to get, but once we have one, we have freedom. This is just one piece of freedom the support worker has gifted this poor mother, and now the future is so much brighter. Drawn from real events, this is such a good monologue.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Demons Helping Demons

DEMONS HELPING DEMONS is like a lost Monty Python sketch! These three demons all have their own characters and together they are hilarious company.
Then along comes El, an innocent living human who has sadly lost their beloved dog after many years.
Although this is a funny, slick play, Jacquie manages to balance the grief and humour perfectly and respectfully.
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: 2 + 1 = MURDER, a 10m noir comedy

Ha! I'm a suckered for Noir, especially where Mr X has been moidered.
I might not have got all the math jokes, but this still adds up to a great play, great banter between the police chief and the PI, throw in the Dame and the sum is perfect.
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Transference

What starts as an analysis on luck, be it good luck or bad luck and how we perceived such luck, gradually turns into something so much deeper. This monologue for two is so very touching, as we slowly come to understand just what is going on here.
Just reading this play gave me chills (happy emotional chills that is) so heaven knows how an audience will take it.
    So very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: When the Scythe Met the Stone

Not only is this an excellent short play, it also depicts a real story of extreme bravery against the worst events of modern history. Wirsansky draws us quickly and neatly into the doomed life of the young ballerina Franciszka Mann, as she comes to the horrific truth of her impending demise, she has one last fight in her! What a brave lady!
Thanks so much Danielle for bringing this story to our attention and for bringing it to life.
    Superb.
