  • Christopher Plumridge: Heads You Lose

A fine piece of gallows humour if ever there was!
Tarantino needs to have a look at this short, dark, downright funny play, for his next movie.
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Evening Gathering (3-minute play)

    Oh my!
This short play packs a punch, fast as a bullet two in its three short pages.
Chilling too, for the very subject is so dark, so awful, but this family take it as very normal, routine behavior.
    Uncomfortable reading, yet clever and
    unique.

  • Christopher Plumridge: There is No Bird

In just five pages there is so much said, and so much left open. There may be no bird, but there are three characters with depth, with back stories and their own pain.
As it stands, this play is a perfect snapshot of time.
I would live to find out what happens next, and before of course. Hopefully we will be treated to more! Great work!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Pumpkin Guts: A Monologue

Jackie the Pumpkin delivers such a funny, narky, sarcastic rant in this hilarious monologue by Cole!
There are some strange rituals which we follow after so many years, and no one has ever stopped before to ask the pumpkins if they actually even want to be carved up and have a candle inserted!
This would make for a fun physical play, but also would be very funny made into an audio, which I will set about doing immediately!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Outpost

I treated my ears to the wonderfully produced audio of this play by Broken Arts Entertainment, I suggest you do to.
The future is often played out as doom and gloom, this play is no exception, it brings about the end to not just Earth, but the entire Milky Way.
Familiar maybe, but with a Sickles play, it's never that simple, for he sprinkles in his usual mastery of craftsmanship along with a healthy spoonful of love.
And I simply love how subtly sarcastic the computer is!
    Futuristically fabulous!

  • Christopher Plumridge: One Night Rescue

ONE NIGHT RESCUE may be in development, but I for one see it complete. Our Cinderella, Katie here, wakes up with a terrible hangover, only to find herself in a strangers home. Is this man her princess charming, or another frog.
Enough with fairy tales, this is a realistic meeting of two souls with two stories, and the twist towards the end is perfect.
    As for development? More please!
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Cat in the Box

I once purchased a luxury, soft and cosy basket which hangs on a radiator, for my precious princess of a cat, only to see her happily curled up in the box it was delivered in. Said precious princess never used the basket.
However this pusscat in question has some old, unidentified trust issues with cardboard and thus delivers a very funny and accurate monologue.... or a MONO-MOG ?
Loved reading this on the 24th Sept 2024 ;)

  • Christopher Plumridge: Park & Play

This is a fun short play where humans and dogs spend time in a park.... sounds familiar? Just like my last dog, Jessie's dog is a moody mut, he doesn't want to make friends with the other dogs, besides, he has his human to care for.
A fun short, bought to life by the brilliant Gather by the Ghost Light crew.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Missing

The situation is always tense when someone goes missing, but COLE takes this to a whole new level. First, you are led to believe that Beth has simply gone missing, there's probably an innocent reason, but as the play unfolds things get darker. Cleverly played out in one short scene in one room with one family, who golds the secret to the absence of Beth?
I just listened to a great audio of this tense play by Theatrical Shinnanigans.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Ruler Of The World (10-minute play)

What a deliciously evil, yet subtle Manager excuse me, 'Ruler of the World' Mr Bancroft is, a fantastic character. And dutiful Chen serves him loyally.
Both characters would provide great riles for their actors and I would lovebto see this staged.
Although I do believe Mr Bancroft will get what's coming to him eventually!
    Unique and brilliant!
