  • Christopher Plumridge: We Don't Have Much Time

I'm not the biggest fan of one minute plays, the time restraint prevents any depth of story. Usually. But here Lou Jones has proved me totally wrong.
In WE DONT HAVE MUCH TIME so much is said, yet also unsaid, that I had to read this twice, the second time after knowing the ending, for this gave it a vastly different meaning. There are so many different ways this play could be staged.
No spoilers here but the ending will knock audiences off their feet.
    Excellent work!

  • Christopher Plumridge: To The Moon!

Ha! The consequences of a little lie told many years before can live with you a long time, so Joe finds out in this fun play by Lisa. He's won a trip to the moon, of which he has quite a dislike for. Better still, this trip of a life time was won from a cereal box!
I love this play, and at breakfast tomorrow I'll be checking all Kellogs boxes in my cupboard....

  • Christopher Plumridge: Abandon All Hope

There are so many stories set in heaven, or some bizarre version of heaven.. I've written one myself. But not so many set in Hell.
This is a darkly funny play filled with such vibrant characters, none more so than Teresa, Satan's assistant as such, who presents a somewhat challenging dilemma to these three students.
So many twist, turns, flashbacks it's hard to keep up, this is one Hell of a play! Bravo!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Waiting Room

I'm fascinated with such stories of the afterlife, especially tales of the time of a passover to another world or another life. PEEL does not disappoint in his play on this subject as Woman is confused as to where she is and why she's being held in a waiting room. It is particularly clever how this woman sees her demise from an onlookers perspective, leaving audiences seeing the story unfold as if through her eyes.
    Very good.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Love that Burns

Rachel has taken a difficult story and created a stunningly visual short play full of the strongest emotions, heartbreak, loss and moody jazz.
I want to emphasise this writers skill in creating multiple sets on one stage, sets across space and time, effortlessly merging into each other. As a sometimes producer myself, I appreciate how, especially in this play, each zone of the set has been simply and effectively described, the results would be stunning.
I would love to stage LOVE THAT BURNS.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Snow Job

Ah, so this is what Jack Frost and the Snow Queen are up to in these times of global warming ... naturally they have their concerns and set about reversing their downturn in profits.
This play is a clever, subtle and funny take on the situation the world is finding itself in. I personally believe this would make a good exercise for a school production.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Putt-Putt

Simply hilarious! I love the whole concept of this play along with the crazy idea Jeff comes up with and his colleagues reaction to the proposal is priceless!
Putt-Putt, or Crazy Golf as it's known here in the UK, is just that, crazy fun.
It would be so much fun for four actors to spar off each other, and a delight for audiences! Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

This play with the exceedingly long one word title, starts off funny, in fact it is funny throughout, but for the sad position Elle finds herself in.
A simple haircut should be just that, simple, routine. But Elle is caught up with so many anxiety, OCD issues that an otherwise pleasant and social activity becomes such a daunting task. Audiences will feel for Elle, and appreciate Nora's patience and perseverance, for they are both well flashed out, believable characters.
A play well worthy of it's recent award, I'm sure more will follow!

  • Christopher Plumridge: You Damn Well Can Take It With You

Well no, you can't take it with you. But Ted knows fully well that the Egyptians DID take it all with them. Ted's stance against his estranged wife's new found love is as hilarious as it is sad, in equal measure, for he's only 50 and looking on to infinity in the afterlife.
The set and costume for this short play would provide some wonderful fun for any production to craft.
    So unique!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Furniture Store

It's as if Tarantino had had too much to drink (or smoked something odd) and decided to film a scene in a fully stocked, empty furniture store. Maybe he did and Prillaman was the scribe?
This play is wonderfully bizarre, it's fast and slick, it's brilliantly odd. Now I'm left so pleased that Kenneth is free, although I really don't know why.
    I absolutely love this play!
