  • Christopher Plumridge: GOONY BIRD HAT

"What a hoot this play is!" might say the goony bird from said hat! This play is a hilarious, whimsical take on two such 18th century dramatists, looking splendid one might say in their 250 year old regalia! No wonder her tea has gotten cold and the book grown. This had me smiling throughout and one big burst of hilarity at the line 'Powder Puff Monkeys'. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Gravestones

Graveyards at night always take on a whole new feeling, spooky and atmospheric, yes. But sadly some are simply being destroyed and it's down to these three to find Camille's grandmother, sorry GREAT grandmother, before this one is built on.
Unlike many spooky stories, this one doesn't turn out the way you think it might.
Oh, and I would love to have one of those 'ghost apps' on my phone!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Poor Man's Poison

Wow! POOR MAN'S POISON is such a gut wrenchingly desperate play, it's sad, gritty, audiences will will squirm in their seats. But this needs to be told and Matthew tells the cautionary tale without holding back.
Drugs can be, and so often are, devastating to those consuming them and those close to them, none more so than meths.
    Excellently told.

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Lot of Time to Think

Chilling, in the worst possible way.
This has the making of a Hollywood blockbuster, where audiences are gripped in this claustrophobic and suffocating story.
Exactly the sort of film I choose not to watch, for it is my greatest fear.
All said this is superbly written and the ending took me completely by surprise.

  • Christopher Plumridge: i am coming home

So much mystery, so much still unsolved. The formatting of this play is like an open scene, leaving the actors and director to take this in any direction they please.
The kidnapping of a young girl will be difficult to get over, even after 15 years have passed, but one of her old friends has recollections, or are they just hallucinations?
A very tense and intriguing play, so clever!

  • Christopher Plumridge: CONVERGENCE (A Different Christmas Story)

This has it all going on, strangers, family affairs, arguments, historic car crashes, cake and booze, a typical British Christmas... if you live in an Agatha Christie style soap opera!
The characters are all well constructed and all fun in their own ways.
CONVERGENCE is a lively, slick play, which will keep audiences guessing.
A thumbs up from a Brit!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Water, Water

Anger, hate, drinking, abuse, and many other nasty traits can feed themselves down though generations time and again, only when someone is brave enough to stand up to them, then this can stop.
It's taken a disastrous hurricane and flood for this son to make his father realise just what a monster he is.
As they await rescue can father accept this?
Moving and gripping in equal measure.

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Fragile Mind - Press The Red Button

This short opener to a series I cant wait to read is gripping and somewhat disturbing. Sci-fi has often dabbled with resetting our minds and clearing memories. Joe takes this one clever step forwards, as we see unsettled Jenny in a chamber, waiting for such 'rejuvenation'. Naturally she's scared and the somewhat human robots are of no real help.
This is an excellent opener to what promises to be a wonderful series.
    Good luck Jenny.....

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Wager

Oh the stakes are high, the stand off tense, both subscribing to the theory 'Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword.'
Baker and Vogler have created a terse two hander in this play, THE WAGER, both characters are clearly not to be messed with, but who will win this battle of wills?
The conversation between Copeland and Peck is slick, curt and at times nasty, as illegal business transgressions intertwine with family affairs.
Audiences will be trying to work out this play as it unfolds, for there must be many ways this story can end.
    Excellent and gripping!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Lonely Man, No more!

Most of us go through periods of loneliness, I know I have. So how do we cope, how do we turn this into dealing with solitude instead.
Good friend Tom comes along to help John with this very dilemma, he's a great friend who offers great advice. How John reacts to this advice is inspired, the whole of the second act had me smiling throughout. Very clever!
