  • Christopher Plumridge: My BFF died

We all have close friends, or friends who, when pass, may well inhabit our minds in such a way, I can name one.
The BFF who has seeded themself in the protagonists mind in this monologue is clearly there to stay and they still have an awful lot to say.
A very thought provoking, raw and clever monologue from the wonderful Patton.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bard Wars

Take Shakespeare and mix him up with Star Wars and you get a brilliant and hilarious parody of Romeo and Juliet!
This play is so much fun, actors would have a blast staging this play.
I'm really looking forward to the next six episodes in this saga! Return of The Shrew? The Hamlet Strikes Back? The return of the Capulets?
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Poor Paige

Poor Paige? I'm inclined to think Poor Amelia, for trying to help her neighbour and friend, her patience is tested to the extreme.
We all know people like Paige, so maybe they need real, professional help.
Also there are many social issues raised here, in the struggles to make ends meet, offset against the things we love most in life.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Fridge

Never before have I cared so much about a kitchen appliance! Although I guess most of us di become attached and it's sad when they break down.
Jennifer's fridge in this short, sweet and fun play is adorable, it cares, it knows how to store yoghurt.
I love this play and would love to see it staged!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A PLAN

A PLAN is wonderful, Kenny's advice for robbing a bank is priceless, even though most of it has been taken from films! As the play, and their plans pan out, you get a good glimpse into the life of Kenny, and Charlie learns well, for this old dog still has a sharp eye. I have to say the reveal towards the end caught me completely by surprise.
Also this is a subtle, clever nod to the TV series PORRIDGE.
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, ALL OVER THE PLACE

Ha! Many years ago I was this teenage boy, pity my mother!
This short play would be so much fun to stage, to fully clutter up the stage to extremes in order to set up the funny ending.
    Poor mum!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Crawl Space

Crawl spaces are usually creepy, and CRAWL SPACE is genuinely creepy. Lee has devised a clever premiss here which will have audiences on the edge of their seats, and not wanting to watch, at the same time. The reveal at the end is horrifying.
I imagine this being played out in pitch black with only the characters flash lights lighting their faces from time to time.
    Scary and brilliant!

  • Christopher Plumridge: TWO LADIES IN BLACK HEADING TOWARD A BENCH (a 10 minute comedy)

Oh these naughty ladies! But you can't helpnsiding with them, hoping they get some success on theirs days hunting.
The friendship between these two is spot on, and the various descriptions they use for the poor widowers are hilarious!
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Floor 40

The way this play zips along is incredible, page after page, floor after floor, us watching the inevitable demise of Hulda. People in her life come and go in her last journey just as they have done in life.
This is a clever and unique play, which would be a great challenge to stage.

  • Christopher Plumridge: (they kiss)

Oh this playwright, by which I mean the playwright in the play, not the playwright PFLASTER, is a shifty character! In just ten minutes this swift witty play takes several twists along the way to the surprising ending.
But the play within a play is brutally hilarious, I want to see it fully written and staged!
    Great fun!
