  • Christopher Plumridge: Midler on the Roof

A testament to a brilliant comedic writer is when you laugh at the very title! This is one funny short which would be a hoot to stage. John even brings new meaning to 'good cop - bad cop'.
Poor Bette thinks she's left on the shelf, or should I say roof?
Will these cops manage to coax her down?

    Another box of Busser brilliance....!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Promise

Desperate and emotional from the very opening stage directions, THE PROMISE really packs a punch and needs to be told. Marilyn has taken a very difficult subject and has thrown it into the faces of the audience, so there's nowhere to hide. Indeed such despicable perpetrators should have nowhere to hide either.
Excellently told with 3 strong characters.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Ghost Tour

There's something spooky about fare grounds, especially late on in the day when all others have left.
Here, in GHOST TOUR, Lou brings us a short but chilling tale of friends in such a situation, trying to enjoy their ghost tour, but is their guide who they make themselves out to be....?
    Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Checkmate

Whoa! A sexy game of chess, of love, of check mate... or two moves from check mate that is. The dialogue is slick, sensual, playful, so much going on on the chess board, but much more away from it.
Are these two in the early stages of something illicit, immoral... maybe... Read it for yourself, better still, stage it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Break a Leg

It's true, theatres, more specifically stages, become spooky at night. Add the Ghost Light and a couple of hopeful spirit hunters and you have the perfect set up for a spooky short.
Soon enough Bridgette and Xander start to hear nosises coming from the spirit box and what follows is genuinely scary. As with many ten minute plays, I'd love to see this as a longer play. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Mother

MOTHER is such a fun few minutes, read this, better still watch the production on YouTube! For not only is this written so well, but it's acted superbly by the playwright herself along with the talented 'baby' Mark Holden.
It's not clear where this play is heading, but slowly and hilariously it unfolds to reveal a perfect ending. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: What Is the End of Everything?

Ha! Poor Dick, though he should know by now where to find that all important button!
He's even sought help from the upstanding Julian but was this a good move?
A fun short frolic in the bedroom!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Slapjack Saturday

I have a new favourite playwright! Brenton has a gift for creating wonderful, deep characters within seconds, be they human, puppets, or in this case a raccoon.
Now, you can't go wrong with the premise 'a woman walks into a bar with a raccoon' and in this tender play about grief, there are some laugh out loud moments, having an actor dressed as said raccoon will bring the bar down. Superb!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Peculiar Puppets of Penelope Platt

I never thought I'd write the words 'puppet induced goosebumps' but now I have.
In the sequel Ace and Loopy are brought back to life in the most beautiful way, no spoilers here as that would be an injustice.
Read this play and its prequel, better still, produce them so I can come to watch.

Please can we have more of Ace and Loopy, PLEASE Brenton!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Peculiar Puppets of Philip Platt

Oh my word! Or rather the puppets words! This is a beautiful short play packed with so many emotions and just the right amount of gentle humour.
I would love to see a Peculiar Puppets of Philip Platt show!
    A gorgeous play.
