Set up as a piece of absurdist comedy, and it is with its interjections from the doctor, this is more than skin deep.
It's absurd that anyone should feel they have to hide away from their appearance, whatever gender, let alone be told to.
There is so much love evident in this couple, that it leaves us hoping they do stay together, operation or not.

I really love the magical mind of this playwright, once again she has given us such a wonderful character, this time actioned by two actors. As a sometimes producer, I would relish the chance of creating this Shoebill Stork, for any thoughtful attempt will be a pleasure for the audience to admire.

Aside from this, there is an important message here, we really need to communicate with nature, if only we could communicate.

Oooh I do love a good vampire tale, and this did not disappoint.
I love the cat and mouse game being played out here, just who is being interviewed by whom?
What price you pay for a gift?

Two grown men meet in a dark alley... sounds sinister until you realise why they are meeting and what they are exchanging! So yes, it's awkward at first, but when we strike up conversation, barriers usually come down.
But this is also a shrewd look into a generation who think they accept gender preferences and choices, but perhaps still get it skewed slightly and try too hard.

I love this play! Weddings for single people can be awkward, lonely even, especially on valentines day, but here the bridesmaid and groomsman, with their very similar names, meet up and the banter starts immediately causing the chemistry to stir.
Great interaction between the two which is perfectly palpable.... I wonder of there's another wedding on the cards?

You know that weird, uncomfortable feeling when you laugh during a funeral? That's how I felt reading this brilliantly hilarious dark play by Martin!
No doubt it is very funny, but having a kid in a toy shop with a gun with live rounds is not at all funny. So you see my predicament.
But this is an excellent short play with a wonderful role for a young actor. Love it!

Having been a soccer (I'm British, its football to us) stepdad, I can relate well to this play. What starts as a first meet on the touch line of their sons football match, soon turns a lot deeper as both mens stories unfold. I feel this is the start of a great friendship where Saturday morning beers are shared. Very good! (BTW in the UK at kids football, it is now almost forbidden for parents to shout at the ref haha!)

Oooh this is as spooky as it is hilarious! I always enjoy the subtle wit Morey weaves into his plays and this time he has excelled! The very name of the video store is on the edge and so funny, yet its clearly a place you don't want to stumble into.
With these vhs tapes, you can check them out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Brilliantly creepy, love it!

MANGO CREEK teeters teasingly on the border of fantasy, yet the realism is just as beautiful. Strangers of chose to stay that way, no talking, no eye contact. But every now and then they talk and so many life stories are suddenly shared.
That's my take on this great little play, I think it could be interpreted a number of ways, such is the depth of story and characters.

Oh poor Max, in trying to deliver the most perfect proposal, it's all gone horribly wrong. Bad enough in front of so many people, but worse still it's all over YouTube!
Thankfully Brenda and Stuart are there to pick him up and send him off to face the world, shoulders held high.
A fun play, at Max's expense, but I have a feeling he'll look back at this and laugh.... in time.
