  • Christopher Plumridge: PIE-LICIOUS: OPEN TIL MIDNIGHT

This play is so hilarious, so dark, so full of pie and I love it!
Once you've had a taste of this pie, there's no going back, you will hunt down Pie-Licious, open til midnight, at whatever cost.
Favourite stage direction: A pie appears, who knows how, let a director figure it out. Brilliant!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dustin

In just ten minutes Joe brings us a powerful, gritty, emotional and desperately sad play. So many people seem to follow in their parents footsteps, usually through no fault of their own.
It takes a strong will to overcome such an influence. I praise the playwright for taking on a real life story and handling it so sensitively.
I have been lucky enough to call Joe a friend (albeit virtually), and I know he has the strong will to overcome his own troubled past, which makes him a suitable writer (for want of a better word) for this important story.

  • Christopher Plumridge: TWO OLD MEN SITTING ON A BENCH (a 10 minute comedy)

These two old men sitting in a bench must be the epitome of a deep, long held friendship. One grieving, one supportive, both dealing with old age in their own similar ways.
I could watch these old gentlemen chat away for ages. Wonderful.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Many Moons Ago (A Garden Party Story)

I would love to spend some time in Hannahs mind, for it must be such a beautiful, magical place. Once again she brings us a wonderful, whimsical, gorgeous play based on an old nursery rhyme. There are so many hints of running away, but sadly they have not been picked up on. At least that is my take on it.
I need to read more Garden Party Stories, for sure!

  • Christopher Plumridge: ELLIE AND LIZ GO TO A SEX CLUB - a one-minute play

Haha! Kazan, along with her dodgy Russian accent, have been ousted in the funniest way! This is a very funny play, all crammed into one saucy minute! Also this would be so much fun to stage!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Experts

What a great, wonderful pretense! A woman being interviewed about the murder is nothing new, but she has a knife with her, a real, walking, talking murderous knife!
But did she do it, did the knife do it, will the detective figure this out?
    Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: 1900s Women Bonding

This short play would be hilarious (and indeed it is) if it were not such a true reflection of life for women in the early 1900's.
The whimsy of these two ladies conversation on their porch is a true delight and you can't help but feel sorry for them, yet admire their resolve.
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bits N Pieces

Firstly I would not want to be Lindsays ex. Pity them!
BITS N PIECES is an excellent, dark monologue which would give a challenge for a young actor to explore, for the character is so robust, yet insecure and powerful, all wrapped together in a complex way.

  • Christopher Plumridge: LINE READING

LINE READING is a subtle and fun interaction between actor and writer, both trying to get the best from the latters script. Sometimes a backstory for a character is very important, other times not so. In this short slick play, Adam gives is a palpable discussion of the lines of a play, and the result is clever and amusing.

  • Christopher Plumridge: North Pole Noir

Where better than the perpetual midnight of the North Pole to hold a noir? Patrick brings us a clever, slick and intelligent detective hunting down the killer of Frosty the Snowman. Do have a listen to the wonderful production of this alternative festive play on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast, it's so good!
