  • Christopher Plumridge: Victim

It takes a great writer to create such a powerful, engaging character in the first paragraph, and Rachel is one such great writer. To take her character, build a world and history for her and present such a compelling piece is a work of art in itself.

Them, the final four words, shake the audience, just as they will the doctor.

Gritty and desperate, this would be a wonderful monologue for an actor to challenge themselves with.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Fiddle Faddle

Ha, this is a fantastically funny short play, I f(bleep)king love it! Having told my stepsons never to swear in the house, especially not in their mother's presence, I can totally relate to this piece, for they would say I was fricking annoying for imposing this pooey rule!
Personally if the 'bleeps' are not quite perfectly timed that would make this play all the more funnier!
And the last line is genius! Bleeping marvelous!

  • Christopher Plumridge: In A World...

Ah poor Carl! I love the whole premise of this play, a brilliantly hilarious voice-over man guiding our anti-hero to his first proper date with his crush. It's so fun watching this take its course, in my head I had voice-over man echoing in my mind as I read.
Then finally we arrive on date night where the brilliant twist takes place, I hope the other guests in this restaurant can hear the voice off stage too!
I give this play one of my highest compliments - I want to produce it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dora's Dynamic Dates

Ah, the perils of speed dating, or rather dynamic dating, are brought to a whole new level in this fun piece! There's something slightly sci-fi about this play too, the automatic voice, which also seems to see and the self closing doors! Will this couple make it with each other, or even make it out of the room? Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Gift of the Matt-Guy

Ha! You had me fooled Mr Pruess! What starts as a perfectly understandable twisted time travel tale turns into something quite normal, then doesn't! Am I making sense, probably not, but this play is a hoot nonetheless, poor Matt is caught up in the middle and doesn't know what to buy, or not buy, his girlfriend for Christmas. This would be so much fun to stage, I love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Flies at the Nativity

You know when you have something to share, something so incredible, so delicious, but no one seems to be bothered...? Well, one fly does here, when he finds... erm... a new delicacy, naturally he wants to share it amongst his brethren. I'll never look at the nativity scene in quite the same way again! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Most Wonderful

Times are hard when unemployed, as these two are clearly now and feel, but together, amongst their bickering, they find a way to celebrate the big day, in quite a unique way! I would love to see their tree once 'decorated' !

  • Christopher Plumridge: THE SANITY CLAUSET 10-minute holiday comedy

Awww, this is such a wonderful, sweet, funny and visually hilarious holiday play, as if the twelve days of Christmas had stormed into their little apartment, well most had! Behind this are multiple layers, a sadness as we feel for young Holly as she's couped up amongst all the decorations. But as with all good festive stories this one leaves you with a warm glow. Lovely!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Squisher's Atonement

A sign of a great writer is to approach a difficult emotional story (What is more so than being dead?) and treat it with respect, humour and dignity. Here Jacquelyn does just that with her own unique style, in the way she creates three great characters in SQUISHERS ATONEMENT. Helena is a wonderful character, sincere and business like until the truth of her being is revealed.
Then the playwright finishes this piece with such a beautiful ending, still with careful humour, so any audience lucky enough to see this will go home smiling. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Homo for Christmas

Oh, if there wasn't an underlying sadness, no scrub that, an 'in your face' sadness, to this play it would be hilarious! Indeed it is very funny, with visuals which would bring the house down. But you feel for Ashley as her family, apparently, simply refuse to accept her feelings and her sexual preferences. I want to laugh but mostly to shout at her parents to tell them to accept this! A great play!
