  • Christopher Plumridge: Moon Rabbit

What a stunning story with a story within it. Thank you Danielle for educating us on the life of Noor and her part in WW2. Hearing the tale of The Moon Rabbit, one can't help but wonder, even believe that Noor told this very account during her interview with 'Jack'.
Also this would make for a challenging and rewarding role for any actor playing Noor, and I would love to see this staged. Wonderful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Stuff of Tragedy

This is such a unique, clever and interesting ghost story, set atmospherically in the same bar on the same day, every year. As finally the truth comes to light, this pair are left in a new state of limbo, will they be able to return next year, or years to come? As with any good ghost story, we are left with so many questions, I for one love to be left pondering. Does Tannis really put an end to this meeting with her letter, does Bess ever drink her Macchiato? Will Jerry ever be able to contain his guts? Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The First Spark

The tale of Rati and Rakshasa plays out beautifully above the unsuspecting couple as they fall in and out of love simultaneously for reasons they cannot understand. That is until the goddess and the evil creature come crashing through the portal.
This play is cleverly written in rhyming couplets and I'm sure with thoughtful staging and clever lighting would be a joy to watch.
Also this is a world away from this great writers usual work, so kudos for that!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Rapping

Oooh what is going on here? I have my own theory. That's what is so great about horror/mysteries like this great, suspenseful short plays. Like so many other short plays, this is such a good idea it would make a great full length play.
I'm still not sure that Cooper isn't up to something....

  • Christopher Plumridge: How to Build a Table

This is such a lovely, sweet play as we see a father wanting to pass on his skills in carpentry and life in general to his young son, all too aware of how quick life passes by. I admire the way Jack narrates this piece in the eyes of the son, who looks up to his dad but also wants to be a kid and watch cartoons. I can relate to this, my father was a shepherd and wanted me to go into farming.... hence I too am writing plays and recommendations instead...!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Wine Moms

WINE MOMS is an astute and clever play, how often do moms, and some dads I'm sure, find themselves in this situation. It's a life they love, a life they have proudly made, yet they crave some 'ME' time. This pair of moms set up a 3am wine based talk show and it's a lot of fun, yet tinged with an air of sadness. Maybe they should broadcast their show on social media, I'm sure they'd get a large following. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Beat (short play)

BEAT would be such a challenging and fun performance piece for two budding actors, as it would need trust and impecable timing between them both. I love how simple this is, allowing this short play to be staged in many different ways. You can't beat it.....

  • Scott has painted such a sweet portrait of this fine young man, as he seeks solace in an old church, set against the sadness and anger the Elder feels, as he has to let go of the church and its innocent honey bees. This is a touching and moving play, as the two characters meet an understanding.

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Lifetime of Adventure

I read this play before realising it was set in 1925... and much of the basis of the story is still relevant now, sadly. Lee has penned a tender, heartfelt short between two people who are in a forbidden love, but the love shines through nonetheless. Very good.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Deck The Mall

I allowed myself to read one play on Christmas morning over breakfast, and boy did I choose well! DECK THE MALL is such a beautiful tale, so heartwarming! I want to say more, but I fear I will bring in a spoiler, so read this for yourself, better still stage it!
