  • Christopher Plumridge: Once upon a Train (A One-Minute Play)

How often do we sit on a train, not knowing where to look, but can't help looking at strangers, looking into strangers and wondering what their stories are? Sometimes we take the time to stop and talk, but never enough time before the next stop. Marcia brings us a brief meeting, where secretly we're allowed to hear their thoughts and I love this idea. If only they had a few more stops to really get to talk, for I am sure they would get on just fine. A great short play with a lot to say.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Any Port in a Storm

Oh wow! The sexual tension builds as fast, as intense, as powerfully as the hurricane that's about to hit Paiges home! There is no time to talk, yet they do, in great detail in order for there to be some love, in order to....
But do they in time? Or do they have to flee the impending storm. This is very clever, unique, I love it! Aly at her best!

  • Christopher Plumridge: You've Got a Friend in Me

Awww! If only all monsters were as sweet as Mothman and Jersey Devil! Read this, find out for yourself if they find themselves a human in the most unexpected place...
And I would LOVE to see Jersey Devil play Wonderwall on his guitar! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: BROTHERS

Simple yet stunning, this is a fitting and moving tribute to two brothers, victims of a tragic antisemitic shooting. After I read this, I researched the events on the Internet to gain more understanding (I'm from the UK). Rachael has admirably shown us the devotion these brothers had to each other, their religion, and community.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ah, this play is so sweet and fun! Watching Tucker and Lemon embark on their first 'adventure' together, seeing it all from their inner thoughts as they use a fairground and its rides to describe their actions has a particular innocence and beauty. I do hope and expect Tucker and Lemon will enjoy many more fairground rides....bigger, faster, more!
Also so there is free reign for the production and cast to perform this as they chose. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Wait

The banter between this couple is hilarious and spot on! Nearly every preparation for a night out and the wait for a taxi will have some elements of this two hander. The conversation becomes even funnier when colleague Ken is discussed, with his antics! Then.... Husband makes the worst mistake, he hesitates when his wife asks him if she looks nice in her dress.... poor Husband!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Weather or Not (A Lost Children Story)

I find myself drifting into the wonderful world that is Hannah Lee DeFrates mind, once again she brings us two lovely characters in a way I have never seen before. The love they have for each other is stunning, put together with an emotional tradition and you have another wonderful one act play by this brilliantly imaginative playwright. I would love to see this series of lost children plays performed together!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Science of Never Letting Go of You (A Lost Children Story)

Poppy and Willow, two lost children who have found themselves to be adults and having to deal with the stark realities of modern life, find a way to keep together. Hannah brings them close, even when they are apart and it's a gorgeous notion! Do read this, or better still stage it. I love Poppy and Willow!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Beyond Neverland (A Lost Children Story)

Beyond Neverland, a fictional tale from which its characters sit fondly in our memories. Here, though, Hannah brings them back to life in such a subtle, beautiful way. Late at night, Poppy and Willow, both unable to sleep and as vulnerable as adults as they were as kids, try to deal with the passage of time. Wonderful and unique.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Box

How often do we live in our home and think about previous occupants, previous ghosts? And if we begin to learn about the lives of these ghosts, should we care, they are only strangers after all? This couple, whilst emptying their belongings from their home, ready to move on, are faced with this very conundrum.
Soucey tackles this well, bringing us two separate opinions from his two characters, in a subtle, clever way. Very good!
