  • Brenton Kniess: Gifting Jon

A holiday without a loved one can be extremely difficult. So many emotions come back up after seeming to be closed. This ten-minute piece by Molly Harrington Canu is heartbreaking but extremely hopeful. This play has a wonderful balance of emotional arcs that are captured so honestly. While this play is only ten minutes, these characters are tremendous roles for actors to relish. A beautiful piece of theatre.

  • Brenton Kniess: The Raven and the Dove

A perfect start, and an even better ending, Cole Dzubak places the audience in an extremely well-developed world that unfolds very eloquently right before our eyes. The dialogue is quick, yet Dzubak allows for that dramatic action to develop so naturally and beautifully. A fantastic two-hander that actors, directors, and designers would be honored to work on. Highly recommend!

Jaxson Mackling captures the brain of an actor and dives deep into the thought process of the ever-evolving industry. This monologue has a nice progression that any actor would enjoy reading.

  • Brenton Kniess: Vistas

Mike Byham develops a touching and grounded approach to a loss of a loved one. I found this really unique and unlike any story of loss I’ve ever read before. This two hander is really nicely planned out and it is executed beautifully. This relationship is examined with great detail and care. Truly a touching one act.

Memories are all about perspective. What we want to remember and what we attempt to forget. But when it comes to a child, what would you want them to remember? This is a great three generational story of women all of whom hold on to piece of history from their own perspective . A wonderful story about family, sacrifice, and hardship of a time of immense struggle.
