  • Jennifer O'Grady: Eighty-Seven Keys (a monologue)

This moving monologue celebrating the life of Sickles' friend lost to COVID introduced me very vividly to the unique person who was Rick Unterberg and made me wish that I had known him--which is really the ideal effect to achieve with writing in honor of someone who has died: making readers and audience feel as if we're in the same room with a person we never knew, and enabling us to appreciate even more the incalculable loss of the person to the writer and the world. I'm very glad I read it.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: A BUMP IN THE NIGHT ( a 10 minute mystery)

Suspenseful ten-minute play with strong female leads, terrific dialogue and lots of surprises. This would be really fun for Halloween but great at any time.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: 40ish Short Plays about Matthew Weaver, compiled

A charming and fun (and funny!) collection of mostly metatheatrical plays written for and revolving around the playwright Matthew Weaver. Many of my favorite NPX playwrights are here. (And okay, yeah, I have a piece in this too but really, it's a super-fun collection.) I especially love the short monologues from different Weaver family members. If you need a pick-me-up I would strongly suggest this collection.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Murder Runs in Our Family

I was fortunate to hear a recent reading of this wonderful dark comedy about ambition and family secrets. Well done!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: Two Point Oh (Scene)

I was fortunate to hear a recent reading of this funny and thought-provoking ten-minute play which becomes increasingly suspenseful and eerie as "Alexa" (the AI of the play) becomes increasingly more powerful and decides to impact her owner's human relationships. Well done!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: A PICTURE OF TWO BOYS

Beautifully written and heartbreaking play about friendship and loss and trauma. I'd love to see it on stage.

  • Jennifer O'Grady: I Don't Look Like a Deer (a monlogue)

A wonderful, darkly comic monologue with lots going on beneath the surface and skewering, marvelously and satisfyingly, entitlement in the time of Covid. Lawing's Brenda Lovvinggood is someone I'd like to know!

  • Jennifer O'Grady: A SHOWER OF METEORITES

Such a charming and funny play, with two great characters and a lovely message about living in the moment and taking what we need from it that's very relevant for our time. Loved it!
