  • Suburban Buffalo Sighting - Monologue
    6 Aug. 2020
So much going on in this comic monologue, including longing to see (or be?) something different, and with a wonderful fast-paced rhythm that wold be super-fun to perform.
  • Ella or the Baby
    29 Jul. 2020
A horribly difficult life-or-death decision is featured in this extremely powerful and suspenseful short play that unpacks so much in its eight pages. Lingered long after I finished reading.
  • Do Not Bend
    19 Jul. 2020
Extremely fun and very funny one-minute play with a surprise ending. Loved it!
  • The Pity and the Sorrow (monologue)
    11 Jul. 2020
The situation in this monologue--a woman interviews a prospective roommate while her apartment building is actually on fire--is just fabulous and so well done! A surprising and moving piece with much going on in it. Love it!
  • LOTTIE'S LAMENT
    11 Jul. 2020
Lermond's Lottie is hilarious, but we also, vividly, see the pain behind Lottie's situation and words. A wonderfully nuanced monologue from Lermond that would be a gift for any actor.
  • Size Ten
    11 Jul. 2020
Glen Dickson writes fantastic monologues--each one is a gem, conjuring a vividly distinct character in just a few pages and with lots for an actor to sink their teeth into. Size Ten is funny and uplifting and so relatable. Loved it!
  • GET THAT MOUSE! - 10-minute musical by Arianna Rose & Shelly Gartner
    10 Jul. 2020
Oh, how I love this! In just ten pages Arianna Rose and Shelly Gartner have created a super-fun and engaging piece of musical theater with wonderfully weird and very funny characters. The songs are terrific too (music is linked on the play's NPX page). So much fun!
  • The Anchovy
    3 Jul. 2020
Utterly charming and very funny short play about seeking and love that anyone can relate to. I adore Weaver's version of Aphrodite in this play (I'm thinking she might need additional plays) and her interactions with the two young humans who need her help. A delight!
  • Shot
    3 Jul. 2020
What happens when another kid at school demonstrates increasingly troubling behavior, and what if that person is a lifelong friend and you think you're the only one who can truly see him--to what extent do you ignore the warning signs? In dialogue exquisitely tuned to the way teen do--and don't--communicate, Hageman's suspenseful and theatrical new play explores the issue of perception--how we really hear and see other people--along with the daily and often unseen struggles young people are so often forced to encounter, including the vital issue of safety. A powerful play for all ages.
