  • James Binz: In Times of Peace

Strong story line and true to life characters. Perry uses setting and dreamscape with masterful skill and hammers the transitional moment perfectly. That panic when Noah hits the PTSD moment is so realistic and painful. Well done!

  • James Binz: Pilloried

It is difficult to stage a play with two characters who cannot move. Jillian Blevins meets the challenge head on (or in) and keeps us fascinated and interested throughout. Excellent pace and dialogue and the piece MOVES without motion! Well done!

  • James Binz: Snow White Who?

So wonderful a tale. We know these characters and we expect certain things to happen. Barbara Lindsay gives us the old twist and turn and finishes us off with a thrust and parry we could never have expected. I could see this on stage being a very successful short play and a joy to watch. Brava.

  • James Binz: JUST A FEW BLEACHING ALTERNATIVES

Well, geez. Political rage time 10. Cefaly spent way too much time thinking up the most disgusting, stomach turning events of all time. Could we hear this rant and still keep our cookies down? Can we experience this much pain and anger and not be somehow moved to action? There is power in words and emotions. Terrific monologue for an actor with the rage to pull it off.

  • James Binz: Vanilla

The 60 second play is a massive challenge and takes real creativity to be successful. Scott Sickles has achieved a victory here. Nicely done, sir!

  • James Binz: The Lesser of Two

Excellent setting for this discussion - and a nice switcheroo of the usual characters! Fairly well balanced politically and covered most of the big issues of the day. I kept waiting for the characters to use their "super powers" and have a physical confrontation on stage! Good stuff.

  • James Binz: Any

Wonderful story. A nice surprise twist in there and Anyuta could be considered the "Chekhov gun". Barsanti maintains good period dialogue and lots of stage business to consider for the actors. Well developed and power filled. Brava.

  • James Binz: MAKE MULCH FROM IT (15-minute drama for two actors)

Revelations and emotional moments combine for funny and poignant events in this short piece. A fine plotline with excellent characters. Comedic and Dramatic and Theatrical at once. Nice.

  • James Binz: Just Like In The Movies

Big smiles all around. Audiences would love this (even fans of the horrible Hallmark movie genre). Nicely done.

  • James Binz: MONOTONY IN MATRIMONY

Hilarious! As a member of a senior couple - this struck a few chords! Bravo for the two of them actually making a go of it! I wish them luck. Laurie Allen has recorded a wonderful slice of life for us all. This is a gem that would work so well in a short play festival. Great roles for older actors and so very well written. Brava!
